Returning Home to Your Catholic Faith addresses with honesty and compassion the fears, hurts, and guilt that many inactive Catholics feel when they first consider returning to the Church. A brief, to-the-point presentation of issues always stress God's mercy; most people who leave and later return do so as part of the process of maturing. Practical tips on how to reconnect with the Church are included. The section on what the Church is like today is a reassuring overview of the opportunities available in a parish.
Born and raised in central Wisconsin in the 50's with a mentally ill mother and violent abusive alcoholic father. Catholic in name only. Put in a Catholic school fourth to eighth grade. Never will forget the hopelessness and helplessness of being an abused child and being ostracized, ridiculed and chastised for not paying my way or fitting in Catholic school. Never thought I'd ever set foot in a Catholic church again. But, the Lord had other plans for me by leading me back to the church in 1980 and inspiring me to develop a parish based ministry for helping others return to the church which has since spread worldwide. Here's my website: http://www.catholicsreturninghome.org Let me know how I can you with Catholics Returning Home! Sally L Mews
Due to requests, am currently writing a protestant version of my ministry called "Christians Returning Home." Love to hear any comments or suggestions.
