Book Description

Julian Montgomery is a shiftless gambler crisscrossing the country in pursuit of poker games and cocktail waitresses. Or so the rest of the world believes. In truth, he’s a special agent for the FBI, moving from one assignment to the next. When a murderer surfaces in his small southern hometown, Julian’s assignment is to protect the one woman who is far from happy to find him back in Crystal Lake, TN.

Rowan Covington has never aspired to any life that would lead her away from the place her family has called home for generations. And if Julian thinks she’s going out of her way to welcome him back, he has another thing coming! When it becomes apparent she’s the target of a killer driven by revenge, Rowan learns the truth about the one man who holds her heart—and how far he’s willing to go to save her.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Ms. Phillips' talent for descriptions drags the reader from their comfy chair and slaps them right into the action."
Working Girl Reviews

"Ms Phillips has shown me her writing style is smooth, her dialogue strong, and the fun shines through more than most I have read recently...Some really laugh out loud moments...Some very sensual scenes between the characters...and most of all the love."
Paranormal Romance Reviews

From the Author

Julian and Rowan's love story was a pleasure to write for me, particularly as it unfolds in the Smoky Mountains of East TN, where I have lived the majority of my life. It is a story of not only the love between the main characters, but also their devotion to family and friends. Nothing completes a love story between a hero and heroine better than those in their lives who love them both!

Book Returning to Love
Author- Lisa Phillips
Publisher-Black Lyon Publishing
Genre- Mystery/Thriller Romance
Rating- Mature

We haven't heard from Lisa Phillips in a while. Her Paranormal Trilogy Obsession Everlasting, Knights Everlasting and Rogue Everlasting is still on the top of my fav list. Returning to Love is a change of pace but will also sit on my book shelf ready for me to extol its virtues!

Julian Montgomery, went from one town to another, to all the smoky backrooms and gambling places; playing cards, drinking whiskey and having one night stands. Born in Crystal Lake, Tennessee, he left his family and his heart, named Rowan Covington. He could not stay and be their small town sheriff. It wasn't until one night he received a message....It's Time, Come Home did our story begin.

Rowan Montgomery owned her own Flower Shoppe. Her heart was in this town. It was lonely at times. She and Julian had been friends since birth and lovers since she was eighteen. The pain of his leaving has never left her and now he was back again. She was going to keep a wary eye out, stay away from him, to not have to feel bereft when he walked out of her life again.

Ryan his twin and his brother Logan were glad he returned for two reasons. His father Aiden was dying of cancer and Julian needed to be home. Secondly the town was faced what looked like a serial killer. All the deceased women were about 5'6, had long black hair and truly looked like Rowan. They feared for her life.

Lisa Phillips takes us into the home and life of small town southern people. The homey kitchen and all the wondrous smells made me think maybe Ms Phillips was describing her own kitchen, it was so warm and inviting.
