Mystery, Angst, Variety & Romance,

I really enjoyed Radclyffe's "Returning Tides" and was surprised that it took me a week to read. Instead of a "can't put down", need to read it in 1-2 days & move on book, I found myself really taking the time to enjoy the storylines of Tory & Reese, Allie & Ashe, Bri & Caroline and the other secondary characters.
Every evening I picked up this book, and got lost in P-Town and the mystery of who was upsetting its balance. I also liked how the writing didn't make it too obvious as to who the stalker was, though I kinda guessed at who he was after early on. I didn't need the story being primarily focused on Tory & Reese; instead I loved the dynamics of the many characters and the continuing saga of P-Town. I can also see how this book is perfectly positioned to lead into book 7, which I am very much looking forward to.

I don't want to give a lot away, but here are the basics-
IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE SERIES- If you're browsing for a good lesbian romance to read and you've never read the previous 5 installments of the Provincetown Tales, fear not, you will be able to follow the story and appreciate it. The characters are complex and dynamic and the plot is engaging, I don't like to give a lot of details as to the plot, but as always, this author keeps you turning the pages. Bottom line, it's worth your hard earned money. IF YOU'VE READ THE SERIES- This is in keeping with the previous five installments, the characters continue to evolve in unexpected ways and are becoming more and more interconnected. If you love the characters it's like checking up with old friends, the mystery surrounding everyone's fate keeps the plot fresh and the pages turning.

Reunited and it feels so good... but not enough focus on the main characters!,

I'm a big fan of Rad's work... she's a prolific writer and usually a very reliable read. But I agree with Readsalot, Secrets in the Stone was a bit of a disappointment. But the Rad we know and love is back with "Returning Tides", and so are almost all of the characters from the first five books of her "Provincetown Tales" series... literally!
But first the good stuff, I'm a big fan of angsty romances (as my reviews probably well indicate) and the main one is a doozie. Ash and Allie, the primary pairing, have really hot chemistry together as well as all the drama that comes with seeing each other after having broken up and been apart for a long spell. I very much enjoyed their story and wished Rad had focused more on them rather than trying to squeeze in three "secondary" couples into the book. And, yes, I know that Tory and Reese anchor this series so I expect them to have a presence in all of the "P-town Tales" books, but to give almost equal time to them as well as the other couples as to A&A is just ridiculous. Maybe it's been a while since I read the prior books in the series and this is how Rad has decided she wants it to run, I honestly don't know. I have to admit that I skimmed through most of the book because, frankly, I couldn't have cared less about the "mystery/suspense" plot and I wasn't interested in reading about the secondary couples as much as the main couple. To sum up, if you want to read the continuing stories of three of the couples from the prior "P-town Tales" books, then, by all means, pick up "Returning Tides." You'll get Ash and Allie's story as a bonus!! Otherwise, it's hard for me to say that it's worth picking this one up just for Ash and Allie's "short" story... although I am going to re-read their parts of the book now, so maybe it is =)

I have always enjoyed this series, and this book was no exception. After Secrets in the stone turned out
to be such a disapointment, I was hesitant to buy this book, but glad I did. Rad also brings back some of the old characters in this series, which was fun as well. Quick paced, fun, quite a lot of sex in it compared to her other books in this chain, a good read.

If you haven't read any of Radclyffe's novels you have been missing out. This is the 6th in the Provincetown series. The characters jump from the page to draw you into the story. Do yourself a favour and read them all, you won't be disappointed.

sexiest and darkest in this series,

Characters are either living, reliving or planning their romance on almost every page, and when they aren't the author has them being followed by a mysterious stalker.
WOW! This was the sexiest and the darkest entry in this series. First let me assure those who are new to this series that you don't need to read the prior novels to enjoy this novel. For those who have read each entry you will totally enjoy how the author subtly recaps over the chapters where the characters are today without extensive and boring exposition. Five years since the first novel 'Safe Harbor' we find Reese the town sheriff recently returned from Iraq, Tory the town physician dealing with the aftermath of the hurricane a week earlier and getting their life to a point where they can spend a quiet evening at home. Making a brief appearance after being featured in the last novel 'Winds of Fortune' all time hottie Deo Camera (what a great name!) and Nita who is the other doctor in Tory's practice. Bri the town deputy and Carrie a budding artist have to deal with their harsh past that's come roaring back to town. Allie another police officer whose become something of a player since fraud investigator Ashly Walker ended their new romance when the age difference seemed a barrier to a future. I was so happy to see prominently in this novel the couple from 'Storms of Change' which had Carter Wayne falling in love with Rica the art gallery owner, and mob boss' daughter, resulting in the loss of her law enforcement career. One of my favorite moments was seeing KT O'Bannon come to the rescue like the hero she now is! A terrific thriller of a story with lots of erotic heat and plenty of romance. The writing is smooth as ever as you race from one chapter to another and can't wait to pick up the book again for a second read. Finally I love the author's feel for the place, you really get a feeling that you are in the car with the people when they make a U-turn in a restaurant lot or walk up the main streets and side streets. If you enjoy this novel don't miss the other 5 novels in the series or one of my other favorites by this author - Fated Love Tomorrow's Promise and the 5 novel Justice Series

Too formulaic for my tastes and overflowing with characters that bring little to the storyline. Read like a fan fiction high school reunion. And what is with all the pelvic grinding, two finger pokeage? Radclyffe's characters require re-schooling in the art of seduction. Unless the author's aim was farce? Sadly, the book fell short of even this. Radclyffe can write well when she keeps it simple and true. The first of the Provincetown books is a good read, but Fated Love is Len at her best.

Well I love all the books in the series. I specially love the fact that in each book you learn a bit more about all of them and you can see all their struggles and victories. Its a great book, one that you will enjoy and can read over and over again (I know cause that's what I do) Enjoy!!

Radclyffe has done it again. Returning Tides--her latest book in the Provincetown series is a wonderful read. She never ceases to amaze me with her incredible characters and her ability to tell a story which takes the reader on an emotion ride. The characters in this series are ones the reader can't help but be moved by. I highly recommend this book as well as the other books in the series!!!

While in Provincetown, it is a special pleasure to read any of the books in Rad's Provincetown Tales series. I was lucky enough to devour Returning Tides while listening to the sounds of Provincetown harbor. In this, the 6th book in the series, we get more of our favorite characters including Tory and Reese, Bri and Carre, Rica and Carter, Allie, and we meet a delicious new character. There's intrigue and romance and of course, with the combination of ocean/water and all those hot women, you get steam...lots of steam!
