4.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not exactly what I expected.
In my opinion I think that K.A. Applegate could be losing her touch. Out of all of the Marco books, which are mostly the books with the humor in the series, this one wasn't that funny. The story lost my interest through several parts, and the heavy drama in it was highly uncommon with Marco. It got too serious, which I'm not saying is bad but can get boring...

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay
This was out of character for a Marco book, but still good in some bits, like when they were pretending to be andalites. But it's not really a memorable animorphs, or a really exciting one. If you want to read a really good book, read #31, the Conspiracy.

The story lost my interest through several parts, and the heavy drama in it was highly uncommon with Marco. It got too serious, which I'm not saying is bad but can get boring sometimes! However the plot was good, explaining what happened to Visser One after book #15 (read it to find out). I would still recommend this book, because you'll end up wondering what could happen next.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Reunion (Animorphs #30) (Paperback)
This book is one of the better books of the series. I definitely know that because I've read the whole series and I'm just overwhelmed. I wish that they had a section on amazon for the whole series's in general. The story line is good in this book and it shows Marco's ability to see the line from A to Z clearly. And involves Visser One, whose books I simply adore. Even though there wasn't that much comedy in this book it was well written and it is good to have a serious book for a change. I would definitely recoomend this book to everyone. I love K.A Applegate's books, especially this series but I also like Remnants. All in all this series is the best.

4.0 out of 5 stars a good book, June 26, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Reunion (Animorphs #30) (Paperback)
In this book Marco skips school one day and goes downtown. He sees his mother wearing a wig and he decides to follow his mom/Visser One. He morphs a fly once inside the building but gets thrown around in the air condishiner. Later, Ax, Tobias, and Marco morph cockroaches and investigate more. They find out that Visser One is now a sub-visser and is living in exile on earth. They find that the normal office that it appears from the outside is a holagram. Inside, Visser One is swimming in a privite Yeerk pool, and Marco's mother is chained to it. Visser One wants to destroy the free Hork-Bajir colony and the Animorphs can't let that happen. Read the book to find out what happens next!

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, the series is going really well!, November 20, 2001
This review is from: The Reunion (Animorphs #30) (Paperback)
As the series continues, the pace really quickens! This book is written brilliantly and posseses all the tension and talent as demonstrated in every other of her Animorph's books.
Well...Marco meet's him mum, and he gets all emotional...but does he save her from Visser One?? Um, I'm not gonna say.

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL, May 23, 1999

I loved this book. It combines surprise and sentiment - and since it's written by Marco - it also contains humor (and a lot of it too). I would definitely recommend this book to animorphs fans - but it's probably better to read it if you know the history of Marco and Visser One. I have all the animorphs books and I would definitely rank this book very near the top.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Animorph book of family, December 25, 2010

This review is from: The Reunion (Animorphs #30) (Paperback)
As probably all of you had (well almost everyone), known that some where before, the Animorphs have made Visser one (Marco's mom's host) fail by blowing away the underwater project.

Well, the member of the Animorphs thought Marco's mom was dead. At least till now. Beaten up by a bad dream of his mother drowning, Marco decides to go downtown instead of school. He gets out of the bus and walks couple of minutes when he saw his mother. After taking her down, he reports this to the team and waits for the plan. After inspecting what is going on, the mighty Animorphs sets a trap for the Visser (both one and three). Unfortunately, things do not turn out as expected. The plan is that,

1. Fool Visser one that the Animorphs are her allies.

2. Drag a trail of loyal - to - Visser three controllers.

3. Take her up to the mountain.

4. Erek projects fake colonies of hork-bajires to the valley.

5. At that place, end the Vissers.

Well, at about 3 and a half, after a conversation with the Visser, Animorph feared that they might have exposed their greatest secret. That's not all, while demorphing for their next assault a dracon beam fried the car where they were demorphing and Marco lost contact with Jake and Cassie. With everything messed up, Marco takes Jake's place and leads the mission. At the climax, Marco gives his identity and lunged and pushed his mother off the cliff. They concluded she was dead. Still, Rachel told Marco that there was no sign of her dead body. And yet, Marco imagines meeting face-to-face with his mother, again.

This book, I am a HUGE fan of it, and I recommend it to everyone.

Being a multiple of 5, this is a Marco book (though near the finale of the series, this rule doesn't hold true). In other words, there will be mention of and preoccupation with his mother, aka Visser One. In "The Reunion," Marco discovers that Visser One is in town and in disguise. After the Animorphs did not kill her in #15, "The Escape," she is thought to be a traitor to the Yeerks. She wants to take Visser Three down while Visser Three wants to take her down. Marco creates an elaborate plan to force a confrontation between the two, but his expected outcome is somewhat unclear.

I was mostly disappointed in the climax to ending of this book because Marco basically has a mental collapse and gives himself away to Visser One. And he's smarter than that. But I suppose the idea is that nobody can be rational when a loved one is threatened. Some may contend that it falls under the "should never been written" category. However, this book had some very amusing moments, such as when Tobias, Ax, and Marco slide down hand rails as cockroaches and when the Animorphs pretend to be Andalites, with the "fundamentally humble and dispassionate Andalite character [imbued] with a taint of arrogance."

4.0 out of 5 stars This book was pretty cool., August 5, 1999

I think that this book was pretty awesome. It had some exciting parts in it, and some funny ones, too. But I feel that the series has gone downhill since #27 because everyone seems to be going a little insane over little things. K.A.A. needs to do something about this. Anybody reading this should try reading one of the earlier books(like #'s 1-14), and then read a more recent one. See if you can see the change. This book was still pretty good, though. I hope that there are a lot of new things in store for the series.
