Kudos to Ms. Sala!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
After a terrible accident that killed both his parents and left him in a coma, Gabriel awakens to strange voices inside his head. Fearing he's going crazy, he tells no one. Each night when Gabriel goes to sleep he dreams terrible dreams of people being murdered. The next morning he reads about these same murders in the paper. Finally, he tells his uncle. Gabriel's uncle contacts Laura Dane, a physic who has spent years helping solve murders. Laura comes to see Gabriel and immediatley realizes that they will have an intimate relation sometime in the near future. Laura helps Gabriel realize what his problems are and they eventually fall in love, although lurking in the background is a killer that keeps entering Gabriel's dreams. I'm not going to give the ending away, and as to why Gabriel is having these nightmares. This book is definetely a must read, especially for all of the Sharon Sala fans out there. Ms. Sala has outdone herself. This book is just as good, if not better, than Sweet Baby.

A THRILLING, SUSPENSE-FILLED ROMANCE,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
Sharon Sala graces us with another gem of a book. She holds your attention and has you holding your breath from the moment Gabriel Donner wakes up from a coma in the aftermath of a car accident, til the very end of the story. Gabriel and Laura are a truly wonderful couple, and the story itself hooks you with it's many twists and turns. This book is definitely a "keeper"

WHAT A WONDERFUL READ!!!,

This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought this book today at 10:30a, started reading it around 1:30p and just finished at 8:30p, and would have finished sooner, if not for a few minor interruptions. This is one of the best romantic suspenses I've ever read. So suspenseful, heartwarming and sad at the same time. This is the very first time I've read this author and now I'm going to go and find the one called "Sweet Baby". I just passed Reunion to my mom and couldn't stop telling her how good it was. Ms Sala goes on my list of favorite authors. I can't wait to read her others. Find this book as soon as you can and sit back and enjoy a wonderful read. I advise you to clear your schedule because once you start this book you will not be able to put it down.

Psychic or Twin Telepathy?,
By
This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
Sharon Sala (AKA Dinah McCall) usually writes a book that has me guessing until the end. Not so with REUNION, I figured this one out right away, but it did leave me wondering if this was supposed to be a mystery or a romance novel. Either way, it was average. The story focuses on Gabriel Connor, a wealthy man whose life is turned upside down when a drunk driver kills his parents and severely injures him in a car accident. When he awakens from a coma Gabriel has changed. He now hears a voice in his head asking for help. At first Gabriel thinks it's the medication or the blow to the head, but when the voice doesn't leave, he begins to worry about his sanity. He confides in his Uncle Mike (not really his uncle, but a man who has known him most of his life, and his parents' best friend). Uncle Mike consults with a psychic, Laura Dane, and convinces her to come to Gabriel's aid. When Laura and Gabriel meet, she knows instantly that they will be more than casual acquaintances - they will become lovers. Wow, that must take the fun out of courtship. Anyway, she agrees to help Gabriel figure out to whom the voice belongs. When a series of murders begins to take place, it happens to coincide with Gabriel's sleepwalking and visions of these murders. The murderer is known as the Prince Charming Killer because he leaves a rose with the corpse. Gabriel's mother just happened to be a rose fanatic, which ties him to the killer by the obsession of removing the thorns from the blooms. Spoiler Ok, so it's a great foundation for a good story, but it becomes obvious and average when Gabriel is locked in jail and another murder occurs. It's a dead giveaway when Gabriel hears his name called in a vision by the victim. And what about Uncle Mike - you mean to tell me that a twin is locked away in a home and Mike's best friends never confide that information? Gabriel never has any memories of his brother? Give me a break! And the ending... well, I'll not spoil it completely, but it was so predictable, it was anticlimactic! End Spoiler I found the characters lacking. I didn't connect with Gabriel. I felt sorry for him for the loss of his parents but he just didn't have verve. I felt he needed a swift kick in the butt. His social life was like that of a hermit - he had few childhood memories, no outside friends other than Uncle Mike, and just seemed to be a hunky wet blanket. Laura was more likeable, but I found myself shaking my head at her. She foresees Gabriel with his hands around her neck killing her and she does nothing? Um, I think most people would get the heck away from him - love or no love. Nope, she's determined to stick it out. That left me wondering about her mental stability. Overall REUNION was enjoyable but not high on my list of great books. In fact, I finished this book three weeks ago and have just now gotten around to writing a review - that's very unlike me! So my final prediction: I preferred other Sala books to this one but it is better than some of the garbage on the market. How's that for waffling?

Hmmmm....,
By Zoe "Zoe" (N E Lincs, UK) - See all my reviews

Well, I DID enjoy this book - in a sort of squirmy, self-conscious way. You couldn't read this with a straight face. It teeters on the edge of being really sickeningly sentimental, and only manages to veer away at the last moment with the odd dash of wry humour. This is not an intellectual romance which can be enjoyed with the brain switched on. Sorry everyone, but let's face it, Ms Sala can be a bit twee. She does write very well - her style is terribly readable, but her characters are so very virtuous, loving and nice that it's hard to truly LIKE them. Oh, well, I suppose nothing's perfect - except for the hero and heroine in this book of course.

Not her best,
This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
This is my third Sharon Sala book and is my least fovorite. I didn't connect with her main character, Gabriel, until near the end of the book. I know that he was experiencing the major loss of his parents and was trying to adjust to his dreams of murders, but he seemed like a "whiny" guy to me. I did figure out who the murderer was half way through the book. Several of the secondary characters added to the story.

Very much like a Nora Roberts style of writing, Sharon Sala has done a superb job with her romantic suspense novel "REUNION." You know almost immediately who the killer is, and yet are still compelled to read on to a very emotional ending. I don't want to give away too much of the plot, it is better when you know very little about what is going to happen and just enjoy the book for what it is.My only qualms with the novel was the repetition of reiterating the facts more than once as if the reader couldn't keep track of what was just said, and the relationship moved too quickly with no friction to add to the anticipation. However, it is a compelling read that instantly pulls you into the story leaving you with a completely different outlook than when you began the book. I know this sounds criptic, but I just don't want to spoil it for anyone. Read it and you'll understand what I mean.

A wonderful read even though it has some predictable plot solutions. Definitely on my keeper bookshelf - I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. More of a thriller with romantic overtones, REUNION surprised me with how compelling and ALIVE! the story, plot and characters were.

First Book I Read By Sharon Sala = BEST BOOK EVER!,
This review is from: Reunion (Mass Market Paperback)
Imagine a life with an identical brother/sister you never knew. Paying the price for his/her actions. Living life as if everyone though you were him/her. How could you live? The book i read was Reunion by Sharon Sala. This book was written about two identical brothers, Garret and Gabriel. Yes, they knew eachother, but not from seeing eachother, they communicate through telepathic thoughts. When one of them was hurting the other could feel it. Everyone thought Gabriel was a monster, but no one really know that spycho path like Garret did. No one really knew why Gabriel did these things. Garret was simply living the good life, while Gabriel had nothing. That is... until something happened to one of them. I believe my audience should read this book, because its a thriller, its emotional, and a very understandable book. This book if for everyone to read. Everyone has a different style in books. For me this book was a slow read, because i didn't wanna miss any parts of it, i wanted to get every detail. In conclusion, never the less I believe my audience should read this book, because its a thriller, its a tear jerker, and its easy to understand.

Not Sharon's best,

Some parts of the book are so thrilling that you can't read fast enough to get to the next page. Some parts are really boring that you'll wonder if you'd like to keep reading the book or just throw it away. The book's end is not so bad but SS can do it better. So, to finish my review I'll recommend you read this book in a cruise or at the beach. That way when you get to the boring parts you'll enjoy your holidays.
