Two artists worthy of greater recognition!, March 19, 2000

This CD features the incredible playing by tenor and soprano sazophonist, Mark Colby, and beautiful backing as well as soloing by piano player, Vince Maggio. The tunes featured on this CD are feature wonderful melodies and great changes. If while you're listening to this CD, you wonder if you might have heard one of the songs before, chances are, you have. Each of these tunes are classics in their own right. This is a great album to sit down and analyze, as well as one you can play in the background at a dinner party. This is probably one of the best offerings by Chicago-based saxophonist, Mark Colby, that you would be able to find. Please pick this one up, and if you like Colby's playing, check out "Ensemble 9." Also listen to Mark playing with "Rob Parton's ROPA Jazztech Big Band." You won't be dissapointed.
