Product Description

ELIMINATE PLASTIC WASTE and SAVE THE EARTH!!! Average family throws away at least 10 plastic grocery bags (the bags we pick from the rolls to fill fruits and vegetables in the grocery stores) a week. Ultimately these will end up in land fills, contaminates drinking water, harms marine life to name few. With the reusable bags you get to do everything you currently do with non-reusable bags (pick up grocery, check out, and carry in tote bags). Store the grocery as is in refrigerator and reuse. Set of 10 bags: - green color bags - multiple sizes suitable for various types of produce. Approximate dimensions: - 8" X 10" (4 pieces) - 10" X 12" (4 pieces) - 12" X 14" (2 pieces). May not be suitable to store leafy vegetables based on some customer feedback.

5.0 out of 5 stars Makes me feel good to use these February 8, 2011
Verified Purchase
I switched to canvas grocery bags a long time ago, but it always bugged me that I still had to use plastic bags for my produce. So I ordered these and now I feel great when I shop.

Contrary to what another reviewer said, I think these bags are very lightweight - no heavier than the plastic bags at the store. The mesh is very easy to see through so the checker can easily see what is inside. They roll up into a tight packet, small enough to fit into my purse. There's a variety of sizes, so there's a bag for anything I buy - even potatoes.

I haven't tried to wash these, so can't comment on durability in that area, but just using them, they feel durable and strong. I don't fear that my produce is going to rip through the mesh.

Love these! So glad I found them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, great deal! July 7, 2009

These bags are great! They are sturdy and well made. The sizes are color coded, so its easy to grab the size you need. The cashiers can easily see what is inside. They close and open more easily than plastic bags and reduce all the pesky waste of the plastic bags. I highly recommend these.

5.0 out of 5 stars No more waste! July 5, 2009
Verified Purchase
I am so glad I found these. I first heard about non-disposable produce bags on Oprah. I found them at Whole Foods, but they were so expensive (over $3 each) I just couldn't bring myself to buy them. These are great - durable and very reasonably priced. I buy a lot of produce so they really cut down on the wasted plastic produce bags.

4.0 out of 5 stars UPDATED:5 bags not 10 October 28, 2011
By Stacey

Same issue as another reviewer. Upon arrival only 5 bags were included in the shipment, not 10 as stated in the item name and description. Not worth the $14.99 for 5 bags.

***UPDATE***
Contacted seller and he sent the rest of the bags and an additional 2 bags for the inconvenience :). Quality is fine so far and looking forward to using the rest of them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Reusable produce bags. January 1, 2011
By J. Mary

Delivery was prompt. The negatives are the bag
fabric is heavy, thus it weighs more going through
checkout. Also there are two large bags (the size
you find in produce at the store), four medium and
four small. It would be more helpful to have four
large, four medium and two small.

5.0 out of 5 stars i love it! March 18, 2011

i got my my bags, and have taken them shopping several times, now. the big bags are large enough to hold 2 stalks of asparagus or several broccoli crowns. the smaller bags, i generally use for things like mushrooms, garlic, or shallots.

i haven't seen a prob with the bags weighing more when going through, and if so, it's negligible. and on the bright side, where i shop (sprouts) offers 5 cents for every reusable bag that you bring in. i used almost all of my bags on my last trip, plus my 2 grocery bags, and i got a 50 cent discount. i might actually be able to make back when i spent on the bags!

i was also stopped by a very excited mom who asked where i got them. it was kind of nice! if i bought more produce, i'd happily get more of them!

1.0 out of 5 stars FIVE bags, NOT TEN October 22, 2011
Verified Purchase
Ordered these b/c they were cheaper per bag than the Flip & Tumble and Chicobag varieties (I have purchased both, but they always seem to disappear). I received FIVE bags, when the description online AND on the product they sent says TEN! Not cool, Amazon! They are okay, kind of cheap and different sizes (1 medium, 2 small, and 2 VERY small). but the Flip & Tumble bags are much better quality, larger, and at about nine bucks for five, they are less expensive than these. I would definitely buy these instead:[....]

4.0 out of 5 stars Reducing waste is always good January 17, 2011
Verified Purchase
When I started becoming more environmentally conscious, first I started using canvas bags instead of taking the paper or plastic ones from the store. That felt somewhat hypocritical though, once I started buying mostly produce in plastic bags. These are a great way to avoid all that waste. The only thing is I wish they were better for storing food in the fridge. Certain foods do tend to rot faster when not enclosed. Instead I use reusable PeakFresh bags in my fridge.

I love these bags, but they shrunk when I washed them. I air-dry them after they come out of the washer and have to stretch them out a bit. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected
These bags are very stiff and have a rough, plastic feel to them. I don't blame the seller, because there's really no way to be certain of an item's texture until you receive it. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars disappointing
The bags are flimsy and poor quality. They are way overpriced for such an inadequate product.

The bags are good because they are reusable, but I'm not a huge fan of the material. They left grid marks on softer fruits like peaches and pears. Read more
