I bought this product for my 2011 macbook pro 15", but it didn't fit. The older macbook pro and the new one have two different shape screens. the one i purchased has more of a sharper square, which didn't fit the more rounded edge screen of my macbook. Other than not fitting, the product would have been great.

I do not recommend that anyone buy this item. I bought this thinking that it would probably have a few bubbles like my screen protector for my touch screen cell phone, but this many is a little ridiculous. I cannot even smooth them out, and it makes it hard to even see through since it has so many. I followed the directions perfectly, however it doesn't matter all the bubbles remain. I ended up wasting my money on this and it ended up being too big for my screen. Do not purchase this item, you will definitely be disappointed.

First off, the fit is so tight that you have to align it perfectly to avoid edge bubbling. This may be fixable with careful trimming of a tiny bit of the top and side edges but I doubt it. The plastic leaves a lot of air bubbles no matter how carefully you try to push them out and they're not ignorable since they are highly visible with the screen illuminated. When I tried to remove the guard to fix these problems, I actually cracked the glass in the top right corner, making the screenguard cost me a couple hundred in repairs. By the time I realigned it, there were too many hair and dust particles to salvage it so it made the trash can. Save yourself the frustration and just clean and care for the screen normally. The guard doesn't really improve or protect your screen at all anyway. I've put on hundreds of guards for touch screen products and successfully, which is great for glass screens that are constantly touched but completely redundant for a regular monitor. Screenguards are just as hard to clean and still get fingerprints and such, they're really only good for preventing scratching from styluses or fingernails. Save your money and buy a nice shell and silicone keyboard cover if you want functional protection.
