I read the 2 previous reviews, so I really wasn't sure how good this cd would be. So,I bought one, and took a chance. I respect the 2 previous reviewers opinions, but WOW, I was really impressed with this CD. This is Jesse James Dupree (from Georgia), with a band called Dixie Inc. Jesse James Durpee is also, the lead singer for the Southern Hard-Rocking Band Jackyl. Jesse and Dixie,Inc. on this "lengthy" cd perform outstanding "Hard-Rocking" Southern Rock, and some "Hard-Rocking" Country Rock. This cd is divided into 2 parts. Part 1 is Saturday Night, which is the "Hard-Rocking", Southern Rock, & Part 2 is Sunday Morning, which is the "Hard-Rocking", Southern Country. The Sunday Morning Portion is performed like a Southern Country Live Radio Program, with commericals, an MC, and etc. It's just like listening to an "old-fashioned" Southern Country Live Radio Show.
The Line Up On Part One "Saturday Night": Bass, Jew's Harp - Roman Glick Drums - Mike Froedge Guitars, Banjo - Charlie Starr Guitar Vocals - Jesse James Dupree Part One "Saturday Night" Song Set: 1. Rev it up & Go-Go 2. Bite 3. Drop Dead Ready 4. Tank 5. Wash Me Away 6. 1095 Days 7. Money Lovin'& Speed 8. Get to Me The Line-up on Part Two "Sunday Morning" ("Live Radio Show"): Bass - Roman Glick Drums - Fred Young & Mike Froedge Guitar - Richard Young Guitar,Banjo,Pedal Steel - Charlie Starr Keys - Joey Huffman Guitar & Vocals - Jesse James Dupree It doesn't list who the "Radio" DJ is. Part Two "Sunday Morning","Live Radio Show" Song Set: 9. One Extreme Intro 10.Welcome to the Party 11.The Party 12.Reality Star Intro 13.Reality Star 14.A.J.White's 15.Well Enough 16.Fire it Up 17.Had to Get Stoned 18.American as Apple Pie 19.Far Out 20.One Extreme Outro Overall, I found this is to be one OUTSTANDING, Hard-Rocking, Southern Rock & Hard-Rocking, Southern Country/"Live Radio Show", CD. The liner notes contain the lyrics to all the songs on Part One "Saturday Night". I have an extensive collection of Southern Rock DVDs, and CD's, so I have listened to quite a lot of Southern Music. In my opinion, I find this to be a good solid 5 star Hard-Rocking Southern Rock/Country CD. Therefore, I highly recommend this one. Thanks!!!!

Ok, at most,

I don't get why Jessie has done a solo album rather then get his band Jackyl to do these songs with him.
The first few tracks sound like tracks you would hear on a Jackyl album. The only thing is, there not exactly great songs, there all 3 star, just ok, songs to say the most. Some of them sounded like they needed the Jackyl backing vocals to make them stand out a bit better. The other half of the album is either live, or supposed to be a mockery of a live show. Some parts sound ok, but a half hard rock/metal then a half country/southern rock just doesn't sound right. I suppose if you view it as a red neck album, it might go together, but there is barley a memorable track to be found here. As I said, I don't understand what Jessie is trying to do, or trying to prove bringing out these Jackyl sounding albums without Jackyl themselves. If you go solo, go for something different then what you and your band do.... but nothing on here would have sounded out of place if Jackyl had have released it on a Jackyl album.

LET ME SAY I AM A HUGE JACKYL FAN. I HAVE SEEN THEM ABOUT 10 TIMES AND THEY HAVE ALWAYS TREATED ME AND WHOEVER I TOOK WITH ME LIKE LIFE LONG FRIENDS. AS A MATTER OF FACT- JESSE ALWAYS REMEMBERS MY NAME WHEN HE SEES ME. I CANT TELL YOU HOW COOL THAT IS. ANYWAY- THE FIRST SONG ON THIS CD IS THE STRONGEST ( as almost every cd in existance tends to be). IT COMES OUTTA THE SHOOT AND TAKES NO PRISIONERS. AS FOR THE 2ND HALF OF THE CD...ITS HARD TO SAY. IT IS DIFFERENT FROM JACKYL AND MR DUPREES OTHER SOLO EFFORT. I ASKED HIM ONCE ABOUT THE SONG " SPARKS FROM CANDY " AND HE TOLD ME " MAYBE YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO GET IT ". I CANT SAY AS I DO, NOR CAN I SAY I DISLIKE IT. AS HE SAID ON THE FULL THROTTLE SALOON DVD- " SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO STRETCH YOURSELF A LITTLE BIT, SEE WHAT YOU CAN GET AHOLD OF". YOU CANT BLAME A MAN FOR TRYING. HE CANT KEEP CHURNING OUT THE SAME MATERIAL TILL THE DAY HE DIES. IT TAKES BALLS TO ATTEMPT TO GO OUTSIDE OF YOUR FAN BASE AND TRY TO BREAK NEW GROUND. ONE THING IS FOR SURE: YOU WONT CONFUSE JACKYL OR MR DUPREE WITH SOMEONE BLINDED BY DOLLAR SIGNS AND RELEASING MATERIAL ONLY WITH HOPES OF A PAYDAY. THEY/HE ONLY PUT OUT QUALITY MUSIC THAT THEY BELIEVE IN. 1992- PRESENT...SOUNDS PRETTY RELENTLESS TO ME.
