From Booklist

Four years after he held her dying husband in his arms in an op gone bad in Afghanistan, former SEAL Jake Sommers is in Chicago, determined to pursue Michelle Carter at last. He is also joining the Black Knights special-ops group run by her brother under the guise of a motorcycle gang. Besides her reluctance to get involved with him again, because he reminds her too much of her womanizing father, an unfair comparison as it turns out, Michelle gets caught up in a revenge hit by a mobster who is after her brother. This means Jake has to save both her and someone he didn’t even know existed. Exciting, tense, and action packed, Walker’s latest sensual romantic suspense, the third Black Knights title, ties up some loose ends from In Rides Trouble (2012), and leaves some tantalizing loose ends for the next one. --Mary K. Chelton

A full-alert, high-voltage, fraught-with-danger, vicarious experience that is sprinkled with humor and super-charged with breathtaking love is in store for Rev It Up readers. Julie Ann Walker takes the reader into the world of Black Knights Inc.--a black ops organization that does whatever it takes to keep America safe and free without anybody knowing who they are. Some of these tough warriors' language shocks at times, but it tells much about them and how it is part of the coping methods that keep them sane and alive.

Michelle (Shell) Carter, the Boss Frank Knight's sister, is no pushover even though she does have a tender heart and a special talent for listening to and caring about others. She is especially protective of her three-year-old son Franklin (he is a darling--so comfortable in his own little skin). Her childhood had been full of insecurity and lack of love, but she was determined Franklin's would not be that way even though she is a single parent.

When the gorgeous, tattooed, charming exSEAL, Jake "The Snake" reappears after a four year absence, Shell reinforces her defenses. She tells herself, shame on him for fooling me once, shame on me for letting him fool me twice, and NO way, Never, Not-a-chance will he get to fool me again. But fate seems to love a challenge.

Since Jake and fate have a unique connection--a love/hate sort of thing, the air is charged with almost-out-of-control emotions when Shell and Jake meet again. Their explosive relationship adds to the already on-edge situation at Black Knights Inc. Every operative has a fifty thousand dollar price on his or her head, courtesy of a Las Vegas illegal arms dealer Johnny Vitiglioni that has a vendetta against them.

I am a sucker for a loving big tattooed alpha male who finally comes to his senses to fall head over tea kettle in love with the girl that has been under his nose the whole time, but first must rescue her from grave danger. All 3 books have been the same. I hope there are some different story lines for the upcoming books....the tease of Rock and Vanessa guarantees another book, as does Angel.

For this book, it is totally predictable, but enjoyable none the less. Jake is great. Shell is great. The Obligatory love scene is pretty tame.....especially considering the time that has passed since either of them has been with anyone.

I loved the first book, loved the second, this one is ok. I enjoyed reading about the people in book 1 and 2. Ms. Walker, you have a captive audience, let's create a new story line, amp up the sex and let the alpha male loose!

I really want my own Black Knight! This series just keeps getting better and better. In this book we meet Jake, who broke the heart of Shell. Four years later he rides in on his motorcycle intent on winning back Shell no matter what. Shell is having a hard time being around Jake and while she still loves him she's scared that he'll break her heart all over again. She's also trying to keep her son safe from a mobster that has sworn vengeance against the Black Knights and their families. And of course the best person to protect Shell and little Franklin is Jake, but can she handle being around Jake 24/7? The tension between the two was hot enough to set my ereader on fire! I was cheering Jake on from the start and found myself wanting to smack Shell a few times because you could see how hard he was trying and how hard she was denying what she felt. I loved these two together and after everything they went through they definitely deserved a happy ending.

This book was full of second chance romance, lots of action and one cute little boy who steals everybody's heart. I really hope there will be more books in this series because each character we meet keep getting more interesting. The secondary storyline was with Rock and Vanessa and I'm really hoping we won't have long to wait to read their story.

Jake "The Snake" Sommers has made many mistakes in his life but none worse than turning his back on the love of his life years ago. Now he's back to claim the woman he loves and the first step is taking a position with the Black Knights, Inc.

Michelle Carter and her son Franklin lead a happy life. However, it gets turned upside down when her first love walks back into it and he's determined to win her heart. How can she ever trust him with her heart and her son's heart when he so willingly broke hers years ago?

Danger is closing in on the Black Knights and everyone they care about is in the line of fire. Jake refuses to let Michelle out of his sight. He just got his foot in the door; he's not about to let anything happen to her. Will Jake and Michelle find their way back to each other or will more secrets from the past keep them apart?

Rev It Up is another fantastic Black Knights Inc. novel from Julie Ann Walker. Jake is such a deep emotional character with so much hurt inside and all he wants is to right his past mistakes. Michelle is a mom out to protect her son and her heart. There is plenty of suspense in Rev It Up but the relationship between Jake and Michelle is beautifully written. I really like these two. They have tons of heat and potential if they can both make amends with the past.

Rev It Up features many great moments but the one that gives me chills is when Jake and Michelle see each other for the first time in years. You can feel such immense dramatic tension. This couple is irresistible. They have a rich history and possibly a wonderful future if they can survive the danger and each other. I like that Ms. Walker seems to effortlessly weave in a suspenseful plot into such a dramatic story.
