4.0 out of 5 stars Good product but could be improved
This is nice product for putting to use the space behind those dummy cabinet drawers under sinks. It could have been much better had the shelf been 1/2 to 1 inch larger from front to back as a not all dish brushes can fit, but otherwise works fine for storing away those unsightly sponges, sink stoppers and small brushes. The shelf part (made is China) came with scratches...

2.0 out of 5 stars Great inserts weak hinges
The tip out trays were first class but I really wanted the hinges to be stronger. Installing these tip outs was the most time consuming item in our new kitchen, much harder then hanging the cabinets, replacing the drawer glides, drawer inserts or anything else. 2 of us spent 4 hours on what should have been a 15 minute install. This review is from: Rev-A-Shelf 6581 Series - Sink Front Tip-Out Trays-Stainless Steel (Kitchen)
The shelf part (made is China) came with scratches on the finish coating on the outside face which fortunately isn't visible after install. It is difficult to rate this...I gave it 4 stars because once installed it works fine which is most important, however there are big concerns though with the instructions and installation...

- The product comes with twice as many flat head screws as needed for some reason and the instructions don't visually identify which screws are which. Not every consumer knows how to differentiate between a flat and truss head screw.

- The instructions are mixed with a "euro-hinge" version...makes me wonder which hinge version is better? Why have the confusion with two hinge versions at all?

- Pre-drilling of holes for the screws is absolutely required and preparing the screws is only mentioned in a side note of the instructions labeled as "helpful hints" which state to do pre-installation and threading and put soap on the screws. The screws are quite large and driving these screws in directly, even with soap, is not only very hard but will very likely result in cabinet damage by splitting the wood...not to mention stripped screws and sore knuckles. I had to drill a 5/32" holes to even begin to get these screws in reasonably.

- Only one hinge "locks" open but the instructions don't mention that which gives the incorrect impression that the other hinge may be defective and since the hinge must be open to get to the hole for one of the screws it adds extra difficulty with the hinge that won't stay open.

- The instructions for screwing the hinges to the cabinet drawer face are poor. To do it right you'll need carefully place the cabinet drawer face with a level and mark the hinge screw holes from behind with a pencil or risk a crooked mis-aligned install.

- The step for marking the position of mounting shelf to the cabinet face is poor written and doesn't make sense. In most cares you want the shelf to go as low a possible without hitting the cabinet frame when closed.
