Book Description

FOR THREE DAYS, IT WAS DARK.
News reporters scrambled. This was the biggest story to come along in weeks.
They called it a blackout.
The last one was in New York City in 2003, but this one was different, special, because the grids in six major cities across the country had been fried, kaput, see-you-next-Sunday. Everyone with some jurisdiction blamed each other, and when there was no one left to blame, terrorism rode in on its gallant steed.
It was the media’s fault. They were so busy stuffing fanatical Muslims with a penchant for Allah and decapitations down the American citizen’s throat, that they never saw it coming. I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on them.
They were partially right.
It was terror after all, but a whole new kind. And when the lights came back on, things had changed.
The dark had brought us visitors.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"[Revamp is] a giddy satire on all things American and yet, at the same time, a kind of homage to the traditional vampire book...the words flow delightfully in this story. In fact, I sucked up the words."
- Phil Semler, San Francisco Book Review

"Clear your schedule because once you start reading [Revamp] you immediately become infatuated with it."
- Heather, 2 Girls 1 Book

"As an avid horror fiction fan, I devoured [Revamp] like it was going to disappear."
- Steph, A Dream Within A Dream

"[Revamp] is like Dawn of the Dead meets Slumber Party Massacre meets Night of the Comet. The horror element is fantastic..."
- Liz, Fictional Candy

"Beck Sherman is a force to reckon with."
- Thomas Winship, author of Vaempires: Revolution (The Evolutionary War, Book One)

5.0 out of 5 stars F-Twilight September 6, 2012
By Sandra
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
My road to ReVamp came via my 12 year old daughter who downloaded it to cure her post-Twilight jitters. She hated it. A little background, Twilight is her ONLY taste of vampires, no nosferatu, Buffy, Lost Boys, or Brad Pitt...Just silly sparkly creatures someone had the nerve to call "vampires"

Since I need no better reason to try something than my daugther hating, I decided to try Revamp.

I ate it up..

Best part about it is Emma.. No angst ridden, which boy should I choose crap here. Emma is a shoot first, no time for questions later because she's shooting more people type of girl...

I hope Beck has more books coming.

As a sidenote, I'm glad my daughter didn't get far in this book.. It's not one for the kiddies!

4.0 out of 5 stars Book Review September 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Revamp by Beck Sherman-
While the book did have a rocky start, it picked up quickly and soon I found myself slipping my kindle underneath my desk to read during lecture. This book is perfect for any vampire lover or hater; it tailors to both very well. The protagonist, Emma is continually developing throughout the story. Emma's character development is strong and this leads to a believable character. At the beginning Emma does not believe what the world is trying to tell her. She holds to her view of reality until it is violently shattered and replaced with a new, more gruesome, reality. The novel is speckled with humor that only adds to the authenticity of the characters plight. There are twists and turns throughout the novel that leaves you in suspense and keeps you up into the late hours of the night. With a character range from bawdy to knightly, any reader can find someone to relate to. This novel is full of action and is a thrilling read. In a world like this foes are friends and friends are foes. This is a MUST read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Book I Have Read In A Long Time September 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Summary: No one expected them to come into the night. They corrupted the world leaders and stole our power. All over an ancient grudge. What is left of humanity constantly fighting for their life and freedom. Emma what just a normal college student with a hot rock star boyfriend. She never expected to be what was left of the survivors to have to defend humanity. Along with Cooper, Seven, Topps, Scott, Rudy, Mary, Sammy, and Charlie. That is all that is left as part of a renegade hunter team bent on getting back control of what is theirs. What belongs to the humans. Vampires have stolen everything from them. Will they be enough? Is there a way to win this war? Will all the deceit, lies, and pain make them crumble and the world lost to the vampires forever?

Review: I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book. It is probably one of the best books I have read in awhile. This isn't your normal lets have cuddle time with Vampires. The characters were kick ass. The lead protagonist was Emma, she was everything that an awesome protagonist could be. She wasn't whiny, she didn't let others take care of her when she could do it herself, and she picked herself up and got on with life. You will get the back story of a lot of the characters; they all came from different backgrounds to help us understand what the world is truly like after they took over. Which was pretty smart, He showed us instead of just telling us. There were some slow parts, but nothing too bad. This book took me awhile to get through just because it is such a big book. It was well worth it. I definitely suggest this book to anyone who loves a group of renegade hunters killing vampires.

I received a copy for review from Read It & Reap and Beck Sherman, Thanks so much!
