Most people will get a front (face) protector for their iPhone 4. Mine is the expensive, though highly acclaimed invisibleSHEILD by Zagg. I'd imagine most face protectors would offer the same area of coverage, meaning they go right up to the edge of the glass but not further. This is where the Griffin Reveal's flaws start showing. The rubber rim isn't long enough. It should go out another 1/16", or at least another millimeter around the edges. Because it doesn't go out any further on the face it is in constant conflict with the face protector, causing it to bubble and attract pocket lint. Other than that, I like the added back protection. I'll say, however, that if I find an alternative phone bumper that offers protection for the back of the phone and doesn't conflict with the screen protector (i.e. extends out onto the face just a millimeter more) I'd ditch this one for it!

I've had this case for about 2 months now & I think it's great. When I first bought the iPhone4 I loved it but 2 things hit me right away. It's was a bit slick on the metal sides so it would be rather easy to drop & the back being all glass looks fantastic but could be prone to scratches & cracks ( Apple says not but I've already seen a friend's crack and even Apple stopped selling slide on & off cases because the were scratching the back glass if any dirt got in there). This case perfectly solved both problems for me. Soft rubber around the sides is grippy without being too tacky and the clear back gives some protection without changes the look of the phone. The case doesn't slide on/off so no scratch worries. It is relatively easy to get off for cleaning the back side if anything gets back there..... Which leads me to 3 small negatives. It's not super tight so very small stuff can get under the case( for me it's always my dogs hair), the strip of rubber at the bottom of the phone over the connector is thin and pulls away from phone easily so I could see that maybe breaking over time if the rubber dries out like an old rubber band, but you would want a new case by then anyways, and third, the plastic back picks up scratches but then thats what i bought it for Also this is not for heave duty protection Small drops yes, but if you are hard on your phone you may want to look at a heavier case (see ottorbox). Of course that changes the whole look and feel of the phone and I didn't want that.
So 5 stars from me even with the negatives because it is exactly what I wanted in a light weight case and the negatives are so irrelevant to me that they just don't matter.

Edit: after posting my review I noticed several reviewers had problems with the flash bouncing back off the plastic back of the case and destroying their pictures. I have taken a lot of low light pics with the flash and I've never experienced this. I did notice that some older pictures show a slightly smaller cutout around the flash than what is on my case so maybe it was redesigned in the last few months. And just an FYI to those that are having flash problems, I saw a youTube vid where a guy was having the flash problem ( again smaller cutout than whatnis on my case)and took a black marker and went around the inner edge of the flash cutout. The black kept the flash from bouncing back at the camera and because the phone is black you don't see it when the case is on the phone..hope this helps

I loooved the concept of this case at first. Clear back, protects it but I have two problems with it. The biggest problem I have faced is the fact that having a clear back, when taking a photo with the flash, because of the clear plastic and the flash bouncing off it doesn't take a correct picture. The only other problem I see is that I have the sky dock in my car for sirius/xm and it doesn't sit right in the dock and is useless. I now have an iphone "bumper" on and I like it but I am still having the same dock problem in my car. I recommend the ifrogz cover. The bottom is exposed and the camera functions perfectly!
