Book Description

Book 5 in the Brides of the Kindred series
This book is a plus length novel--around 130,000 words long

Nadiah has the Sight—the ability to see into the future. But the one thing she can’t see is how she’s ever going to be free of the blood bond her parents forced her into when she was only six. Her fiancée is an evil bastard who delights in torturing her and her only way out of a loveless marriage is for a Kindred warrior to challenge the hated bond. But Nadiah has no warrior to challenge for her—she just has Rast.

Adam Rast doesn’t know why he feels so protective and possessive of Nadiah, only that he’s willing to kill or die to protect her. When the chance to set her free arises, he takes it without hesitation, even though his lack of Kindred blood could mean his defeat or even his death. But Rast has a secret, one even he doesn’t know he possesses. When he undertakes Nadiah’s quest, the truth comes out in a strange and provocative way.

Can Nadiah and Rast live through their ordeal? Will the truth about Rast set them free…or kill them? You’ll have to read Revealed to find out.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 star really February 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is really not a stand alone book, none of them are in the series so it is highly recommended to read the other four before beginning this one. I absolutely love all of the 'Kindred Bride' books. This is the only one that I couldn't give 5 stars to and the reasons aren't really much of a criticism on the actual story since I loved Rast and Nadiah in this book. There were 3 reasons that kept it from being a 5 star rating for me.

1. The Y'dex character. This is supposed to be a story involving the Pure Tranq people of Tranq Prime, specifically Nadiah's horrid fiance Y'dex. In 'Hunted' with Sylvan and Sophia we learnt a lot about the Tranq people, both Kindred and Pure. They were a very cool, rational, rather frigid race that hid there emotions. Kind of like Vulcans in Star Trek, at least I always thought so. Y'dex was supposed to be a prime example of this race of people since he was of a Pure bloodline. So not so in this book. He was portrayed as an evil bastard who took quite a bit of enjoyment and satisfaction out of torturing Nadiah through their blood bond, which let me just say involved a lot of sadistic emotion on his part. It was just hard to remember that he was Pure Tranq with his irrational behavior throughout. I think his cruelty would have been much more effective if he had been written with the cool restrained emotions instead of the raving lunatic. But I will admit to quite a bit of satisfaction with his final fate, even though it did make me really squeamish to read that chapter.

2. Rast and Nadiah fell in love just a little too quickly for me in this book without much interaction or talking at all. By the time I was half way through the book though it really didn't seem as important, it just had to be mentioned.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kindred Series 2.0 February 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sci-fi romance and action (YES, please!) and secondary characters you will want to follow in the future. This series (start from Book 1!!!) is definitely an emotional and enjoyable investment. I thoroughly enjoy travelling through the stars where Mrs. Anderson's imagination takes me.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is not a stand-alone book - I felt that because "Revealed" is the start of a new story arc, Mrs. Anderson had to spend some time introducing us to new characters (good and evil), providing essential character backstory to our hero and heroine, and interweaving beloved characters (e.g., Sophia) into this one book - whew! Makes me tired thinking about how she did it.

/* Some Spoilers */
Another reviewer mentioned that Rast and Nadiah fell in love too quickly. I reluctantly agree, however some of their romantic development started in book 4 "Found". I felt this book highlighted the personal growth of Nadiah and Rast (Mrs. Anderson comments on the character growth several times from Sophia's perspective). In book 2, we are introduced to Nadiah as a precocious young lady and in book 3 we meet Rast as a single-minded and loner private detective, however by book 5 they have to grow very quickly to represent lost Kindred royalty (and communicator to a Goddess!). The onus of this newfound responsibility (seems like the responsibility of the entire free universe) is lightened and motivated by their selfless love for one another (which they demonstrate many times).

Mrs. Anderson has also utilized her Scheherazade-like (Can I use this phrase as an adjective?) skills by providing some background to Book 6 (Merrick and Elise's story).

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheesy as Hell March 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
SPOILER ALERT...there will be spoilers in this review!

I don't even know where to start! Initially I was somewhat excited to read it, as I didn't know it had come out, and even though I think the series is ultimately kind of stupid (it's sci-fi lite and I have too many problems with the books to really call them good), I still enjoy my doses of Evangeline-erotica. No one does dirty talk better, I swear.

But the story...damn it was a huge cheese-fest. The whole thing played out like a bad Disney movie. And the characterization was markedly poor in this one. The antagonists were straight up evil, with no shades of grey, no explanation for why they did what they did. I found Nadiah's parents in particular, to be especially hard to believe. Their apathy at their daughters abuse at the hands of her equally awful fiancé just didn't ring true for me. And Rast's mother's explanation of his adoption and why they didn't care about him much was nearly as bad. It wasn't written in a way that I could buy into it. People don't pick out a baby like a dog and then give it to their daughter to play with. That's absolutely absurd. Also, why couldn't the very psychic Nadiah fight her fiance back by pulling the bond between them, like he was doing to her? I don't think that was ever explained. I suppose Anderson thought she would have had too much power and wouldn't be "damsel in distress" enough, since she'd be able to help herself out sometimes. We can't have that now, can we?

The heat between Rast and Nadiah was there, but their romance played out so predictably and it was so traditional, that I felt like I was reading a child's fairytale with some sexy stuff thrown in.

Hi Lilly! According to her Goodreads page, Pursued is due out June 20th. I'm not sure how accurate the pub date is, but I'm looking forward to book 6 to see what happens to Merrick & Elise. :-)
