Mankinds' dialog with a Higher Intelligence has never ended,
By OAKSHAMAN "oakshaman" (Algoma, WI United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Revelation the Divine Fire (Paperback)
When this book first came out in 1973 it was a groundbreaking work. It was perhaps the first to bring the idea of continuing communication with a higher power to the attention of the general public. Until this book, the unquestioned assumption was that all such communication had ended in biblical times- and that anyone who claimed differently was obviously mentally unhinged. This book ,however, made a detailed, painstaking study (with personal interviews and case studies) of people in modern times who had experienced the same symptoms of revelation (the Divine Fire.) Steiger interviewed a wide variety of people from respected scholars and churchmen, to everyday housewives and business men, to "Jesus people" and New Age channellers.
Then he examined the different types of contact and the different contents of the information recieved. He came to the conclusion that while some of the material seemed to come from conflicting sources, the vast majority appeared to be historically consistent in tone and content down through the ages- a universal theme coming from an outside intelligence. As the book points out early on, why should we think that the era of divine revelation is over? The eastern religious traditions have never made such an assumption. In the Vedic tradition the canon has never been "closed"- it is accepted that valid revelation continues to this day. Only the modern (as opposed to the gnostic) tradition has slammed the door shut in the face of God. And this seems to have been done more in the name of social control and the protection of a bureaucratic heirarchy than for any valid spiritual motivation.

Revelations: Predictably Amazing! Steiger Does it Again...Revised Even!,
By Emi The Shogun Emperor "Emi Da Shogun" (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revelation: The Divine Fire (Paperback)
When I first flipped through some of the first few pages of this book, I wondered where Brad was going with it. Was he going to write a book about biblical prophecies and try and link them to past, present and future world events? Was he going to try and highlight modern-day prophets and show how even an "average joe" could predict the future...or was he just going to get some scientists together and make some logical sense out of prophecies, predictions and their fulfillment? Well...it turned out all of these were covered and thensome!
Brad Steiger brings together so many experts, gifted people and "ordinary people" together to bring to light what it is that makes prophecies tick and how they have evolved over the centuries. From the holy prophecies of Elijah to the amazing insight of Nostradamus, prophecies are all around us and form the fabric of our society. Brad reminds us how fragile our world is, how important the gifted are and how we can no longer ignore them. If one message pervades throughout this fantastic book, then it would have to be this: BE FOREWARNED. The warnings and messages of hope alike have been coming our way for centuries and if we continue to ignore them, we may be ill-prepared when our time comes...and if Brad's book is a premonition itself...then it appears that we haven't learned our lesson yet.

***** A Master-Reference on Revelation from a Master-Teacher *****,
By John Jay Harper "www.johnjayharper.com" (Spokane, WA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revelation: The Divine Fire (Paperback)
As a writer myself, I can only marvel at how well this book is constructed and reads as it presents a page-turner of spiritual experiences that are indeed timeless. From the opening to the closing, I could not but be in awe at the overall candidness, the clarity, and the comprehensive manner that Brad Steiger employed as he weaves these tales of truth-seekers into the Big Picture of Reality. More so, I consider this book to be the baseline for all of us that do research into the paranormal realms; it is the gold standard in fact. What a treasure chest to have in one's home library as it will remain in mine until the End Time and, perhaps, beyond! So do yourself a favor and buy this classic that has been reborn to be a collector's item today. It is truly a marvelous work and a wonder in and of itself from a literary standpoint, yet the content is also out of this world, literally!

Current-Day Prophets,
By
This review is from: Revelation: The Divine Fire (Paperback)
With numerous stories and citations, the author discusses, often from a Christian standpoint, his belief that revelations continue to occur to common people around the world. He calls these revelations "Divine Fire--the transfer of thought, spirit, and power from an Infinite Intelligence to a finite, human intelligence." Quotations and interviews of great variety support his position in a very readable format.

Incredible Book!,

Ever receive a message from an angel, spirit guide or God? I haven't either, but the people interviewed in this book say they have. The author has collected not only hundreds of stories from a wide variety of people who claim to have had a Revelation, but he also evaluates them along with members of the scientific community. Really interesting information. Highly recommended!

This is an excellent book documenting people's encounters with God, spirits, angels, etc. The author has interviewed men and women of all ages, races, religious beliefs, etc. and shows that people from all walks of life have had personal encounters with the divine. Very well written and thought provoking.

I first purchased this book in the 70's and was surprised to see this reissue. I bought it again and not only thoroughly enjoyed it, but found it to be current and relative to much that is happening today. Highly recommend.

Just brilliant as ever,

It is about time this book came back into print and with such a marvellous cover too. Brad Steiger crafted a genius work with Revelation that explained such a lot for so many people. The work is truly inspirational and reveals the depth of the human psyche and the inner workings in such a way not seen since Carl Jung moved on. Every psychologist on the planet should read what Steiger has written in-order to better comprehend the more paranormal, paradoxical and sometimes pathological aspects of the human machine we call the brain - it does in fact have more to it than we all realize. Excellent work!

I've owned this book for many years...,
This review is from: Revelation: The Divine Fire (Paperback)
and recently reread it as I do every couple of years. There is a reason this book was first published 35 years ago and still is read around the world. Translated into multiple languages, this is the definitive tome on the subject.

great read,
This review is from: Revelation: The Divine Fire (Paperback)
Wow! The book began with such an interesting story, I read it is one sitting. After much research and study, Brad Steiger truly has become aware the spiritual gifts are alive and well in the world today. Many people across the world have staunchly stated that they have had revelations from the Lord or another "higher power". This book ranges from biblical quotes to UFO sightings but keeps consistency through out.
