I was in a record store sometime last week and heard this CD playing, and I was like, who is this?!? They showed me the cover, told me it hadn't been officially released yet, but the manager was selling this CD. I got it the next day, and I'm not disappointed.

What caught my attention about the cover and the title was that there was an old record of the Gil-Scot Heron titled "The Revolution Will Not be Televised" written in the same font as V's album, with V posing the exact same way Heron was on the cover. Another thing that caught my attention was V sounded just like Musiq on some tracks, and that Jill Scott was on one track(she doesn't hit any lyrics though, it's more background ad-lib).

V did a great job most of the songs, on others they're decent. There really isn't a bad song on the CD, but certain ones just blow the others out of the water. He does have some instances where he talks about God and Heaven, like "Picture This" and "Born Again." "Confess" is a sharp Musiq-like groove. My absolute favorite is the last track "Melody." The lyrics play out like a love song dedicated to music, but the words could definitely apply to you mate. Matter of fact, I'm playing that song at my wedding! Definitely worth the money.

This is an excellent CD. I'd never heard of this artist prior to buying the CD. I discovered it via the "customers who bought this, also bought..." section. After listening to the samples - which I loved - I ordered it. It really is excellent. His vocals really remind me of cross between Marvin Gaye and Musiq. I also love his melodies, his beats, and his vibe. (Oh, and that cover picture on the CD doesn't do him justice - pictures inside the CD reveal that the brotha is fine.) Hopefully this won't be the last we hear from him. And, Jill Scott's spoken word on track 8 is quintessentially Jill - really beautiful.

It's a shame that there isn't a mainstream show on TV or cable channel that profiles artists like this, short of BET J, and even then, there's only so many artists they can get past the program directors.

V is a phenomenal soul artist that deserves to be heard on mainstream radio. I hope more than a select few are fortunate enough to hear him. Less Omarion, Akon and the rest of that garbage and more artists like V, please. Thanks!

ERIC HAS USED THIS BROTHER ON HIS TRACKS.GOOD PRODUCTION (TOUCH OF JAZZ) AND LYRICS TO BOOT!BE SURE TO COLLECT THIS ONE IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

as soon as i sampled this cd i knew i had to have it. its sad to me that good music doesn't count anymore. instead if you got marginal talent but have a song with a catchy hook that the radio can play 80,000 times in an hour then you get love. r&b is no longer r&b unless you have jadakiss on it. that's corny and overused. this guy and many others like him need to be pushed to the forefront and make the sub-standard talent step up their game and sing about something for once.

the music on this cd is smooth and soothing. the vibe is perfect for the ones who can appreciate real r&b without the chaos. i guarantee this one will go over just fine for anyone who gets it. its hot. trust me.

Who's the hottest singer in Philly, Musiq, Jill Scott, or Bilal? None of those just mentioned. V is a brotha who's cd is nothing more than pure bliss. Tight production and velvety smooth lyrics make this cd a sleeping giant. Unfortunately many people will never hear this bro sing unless they stop depending on commercial radio for recommendations. This is a true diamond in the ruff find. Check it out.

Big props to V. I look forward to much more from him. I've told all my friends who just like good music. This album just feels good from start to finish.

Like everyone else, I found V by happen-chance... he was on someone's myspace page. I had to have him after hearing that one song "Who Would I Be"! I was totally and completely hooked!!! Even if the mainstream music industry doesn't pick up artists like this, I'm going to introduce him to as many folks as I can. His music is very soothing and sensual at the same time. Beautiful music...

To start I would like to thank all of the other reviewers listed for adding their comments and reviews to artists like V, Foreign Exchange, Zo!, Eric Roberson, Darien Brockington, etc.. The only way to try and keep good music alive is to keep writing good reviews so that others will look for these artists and purchase real R&B/Neo-Soul. These artists have no venue to hear their music except for internet radio, Youtube etc.. I have purchased 15-20 CD'sand MP3 songs via Amazon by hearing their music on internet and/or samples from the song lists. That with the great reviews made me reach out and find great music and artists that you can't hear on the radio. Now to the CD. I will say that this is one of the best CD's I've heard in the last 10 years. You can listen to this all the way through. Like another reviewer said " all the tracks are good but there are a few that take it to another level". Best Friend, Picture this, and Born again are smooth soulful songs with a Neo-soul vibe. You can play it for whatever occasion and it still works. The rest of the songs are mid tempo to ballad type cuts that bring it hard. No fall off on any tracks. If you love real singing and great music please purchase this. The production and quality of the tracks are good and clear. Also much love to Exec Producer: DJ Jazzy Jeff ([...]) He has alot of other artist in his camp like this.
