You won't agree with every detail of Dr. Morris' commentary, but his commitment to a literal interpretation of the text will challenge you. Dr. Morris approaches Revelation with two simple assumptions: We should expect to understand Revelation. If the plain sense makes sense, seek no other sense. He challenges us with this question: Is Revelation really so hard to understand, or is it just hard to believe? His training in physics and engineering shows through on many pages. This commentary revolutionized my approach to Revelation!

An amazing literal translation by a gifted scientist,

I have read Dr. Morris' Revelation Record three times. Most of the mysyeries that have surrounded the book of Revelation have been explained in this most literal interpretation. As a creation scientist Dr. Morris' unique gifts have made The Revelation Record sobering but exciting. The revelation to me is the loving kindness of God in His grace as His wrath is poured out, His continual reaching out to those who don,t believe. It is indeed a blessing to read this book and gives the reader a factual hope in God for the future.

A scientific approach to Revelation.,

Mr.Morris wrote a level-headed commentary on Revelation. This is not one of those sensationalistic books! This book takes a futuristic, literal approach to the book of Revelation.
There are a few minor areas where I disagree with the author, but overall I found this book to be a very good read. He has some interesting scientific theories that I haven't heard before. Very interesting early church history and geographical information. His theories on the identity of the 24 elders are thought-provoking. He notes the relevance of Zehariah's prophecy(Zech.5:5-11)of the ephah to the black horse of Rev.6:5.Something I had never thought of! I was exposed to some different theories and I came away with some more education on Revelation as a result of reading this book.

God "Blessed" This Man With Incredible Wisdom & Discernment!,
This review is from: The Revelation Record: A Scientific and Devotional Commentary on the Prophetic Book of the End of Times (Hardcover)
Having read and studied many, many books and commentaries on the Book of Revelation, this work of Mr. Morris's is truly the "Best Of The Best"! He lays out a common sense approach to each chapter and verse and also adds many other scripture references that "tie" in with the Revelation verses, showing that much time and study preceded the penning of this work! God never intended for us (His True Believers in Jesus Christ) to not understand His Word! That would absolutely be "ludicrous", as we would have absolutely no proper direction in life! (The unbelievers lot)! We were meant to receive "discernment" of God's entire Word and this book is a "great" study in this endeavor. Where God simply has concluded that we do not need further enlightenment in a scripture verse there is no discernment. Mr. Morris however, delightfully gives us various scenarios such as in the 24 elders. Whoever they are, the "fact" is stated that they were "worshiping" the "true" Lord and Savior on the Throne! This is a great and wonderful "tool" in teaching and "witnessing" about the Book of Revelation!

Revealing the Beginning and Ending of God's Great Plan!,

This review is from: The Revelation Record: A Scientific and Devotional Commentary on the Prophetic Book of the End of Times (Hardcover)
What a wonderful blessing this incredibly insightful and thoroughly research book has been for me. If you are looking for a book that will draw you into a deeper understanding of God's "Manifest Destiny" for mankind, I could not cite any other book other than this one. Broken down verse by verse in a literal interpretation that clearly delineates God's workings from generation to generation, Henry Morris makes a very convincing exegesis that will leave you amazed and blessed. No other book I have read on prophecy has been as great a blessing as this one volume! What has stood out the most for me is how Morris brings together Old Testament prophecy into the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The reader is left amazed with how God has continued to work and reach out to mankind from creation to revelation. For the first time, I can see God's finger print on the book of Revelation. There is no doubt that God WILL accomplish all that He has said He would! BUY THIS ONE! FIVE STARS!!!!!

This book has a fairly unique slant on the book of Revelation. It is pre-tribulational and pre-millenialist. The frequent references to science give him insights into passages that others (even with a similar theologic slant) don't always get.In truth it is sufficiently 'unique' that I would not recommend it as your only Revelation commentary (probably the Revelation book published by Ritchie would get that position) but it is extremely useful as a second or third book of a set. I am doing a series of addresses on Revelation and have used it frequently.

The best verse by verse commentary on the Book of Revelation.,

This review is from: The Revelation Record: A Scientific and Devotional Commentary on the Prophetic Book of the End of Times (Hardcover)
Henry Morris, a layman, has written the best verse by verse commentary on The Book of Revelation I have ever read. In this fantastic work he, as a layman, has provided a detailed verse by verse study that puts "professional" theologians in the dust.
This book is very readable while offering a very in depth study of Revelations. Mr. Morris' commentary is heavy with supporting scriptural references which provokes the reader to further study and allows the reader to come to their own conclusions. Readers should be aware that Mr. Morris very adequately supports the pre-tribulation view on "end times" theology providing sufficient scriptural support for his position. This book is great as a devotional, bible study product or as a resource for sermon preparation. The Revelation Record is a must read for every believer in Christ!

I began reading this book as soon as it arrived. I found it to be Biblically sound, well written, and interesting enough to be hard to put down. My husband came along and "borrowed" it to use as a study source for his preparation for teaching an adult Sunday School class. Now I will have to wait until his class is completed before I can finish it for myself! Based on what we have read so far, we would highly recommend this book.

Another excellent book by Dr. Morris. Once again he cuts through the subjective mumbo-jumbo smoke of modern meaninglessness and doubt to give us clean air: exactly what the text says, along with connecting notes to the related Scripture and prophecy, and occasionally a note on the Greek to inform us where English translation falls short. Short of learning Greek for yourself, this book is a worthwhile addition to the library of any Berean-minded Christian. It will strengthen and encourage your faith. It will inform and arm you without tempting you to superimpose the passing imaginations and traditions of men over and above the word of God. Highly recommended.

If you are a Christian, and have wondered about the book of Revelations, this book is a must. I have not found a more intensive, deep, and thorough review than what Henry Morris does in this book.
My wife and I read through it every morning for our devotions and have loved every minute of it!!! A++++++ |
