No Dummies Here!,

Take heart, prophecy fans. You're not dummies any longer!
If you're simply the average Bible student, you've regarded Revelation with a wary eye. Author Bernie Calaway agrees. It is "a weird writing," he says, but not one to be shunned. In fact, Revelation is the only book of the Bible that promises a special blessing just for reading it! You will definitely be blessed by this volume. Calaway does not look down on his readers, but he doesn't shirk difficult explanations either. Where there are several opinions, he gives each (concerning the "Millennium" or the "rapture", for example). His text is not arranged in a verse-by-verse manner (which, by the way, is not always chronological), but rather he takes you to Heaven, shows you what is going on there, then descends to Earth and gives you a tour of "tribulation" on Terra Firma. Every "character" from Abaddon to Yahweh, and every place from the Abyss to Zion are covered. You're getting more for you money here, however. Calaway draws from his knowledge of Old Testament prophecy (notably Daniel) to enrich and expound on the Revelation text. This book is good for personal or group study (an outline is included in the appendices). |
