5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Addition to the Prewrath Bookshelf, March 20, 2005
This review is from: Revelation Unsealed (Paperback)
Revelation Unsealed, by Don Salerno, is billed as a commentary on Revelation, but it's not your typical commentary. This extremely well-researched book, and to date, it is the only commentary on Revelation that is written from a classic prewrath perspective.

If you are new to end-times prophecy, this is a terrific foundation that walks you through the basics of Revelation in an easy-to-read, yet information-packed discussion. The book interweaves historical details to lay the groundwork for the discussion, and its chapters build on one another like a story. Even those new to prophecy will find it an enjoyable read.

If you are already a well-versed student of end-times prophecy, this book is still a must-read. Much of what you will find in these pages will be familiar, but it is interspersed with little-known historical details or new insights that will cause your brain to perk up and say, "Huh!" While you may not agree with every detail, you will undoubtedly learn something.

We are asked to review a lot of prophecy books, and in terms of anything truly original or new, most deserve little more than a skim. Revelation Unsealed deserves a quiet, thoughtful read, and you may even want to read it again.

Salerno takes this book beyond mere commentary, however. He uses these discussions as a springboard to discussions about the relevance of prophecy in the lives of everyday believers. From the practical implications in our daily living to using fulfillment of prophecy as an apologetics tool for the trustworthiness of scripture, this book is a little bit commentary, a little bit historical background, and a little bit humble preaching.

While a little rough, in terms of copy editing, in places, don't let that deter you. This is an excellent addition to any believer's prophecy bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revelation Unsealed Review, March 2, 2004

As a religious studies major I found this book very insightful. The depth of knowledge exhibited by the author is remarkable. It is apparent that a great deal of research and time went into developing and writing this book. This is a book, however, that demands the reader's attention, as it does take time to thoroughly comprehend the complexity of the issues presented within.

Lots of diagrams and time-line illustrations too. What a concept!

If you want to learn more about the "pre-wrath" rapture theory, this is THE book to get.

4.0 out of 5 stars What a great commentary!, June 28, 2005
This review is from: Revelation Unsealed (Paperback)
I used to be strongly pretrib until I was challenged by a friend to read Marvin Rosenthal's book The Pre wrath Rapture of the Church. Reading that book, it didn't take very long till I was forced to give up my pretrib view. After that I bought several books to prob the mind of other pre wrath teachers. However, most of the time I was very disappointed . Until I found this book. Mr. Salerno has written an excellent commentary on Revelation, in view of the pre wrath rapture. The highlights of this book are his scholarly writings on the seven churches, the antichrist, and his use of the book of Daniel. It's almost like having two commentaries in one. I would like to give this book five stars, however, due to some misinterpretations of scripture and some slight disagreeing of some of his views, I have given this book four stars. Nevertheless, my understanding of revelation is stronger because of this book.

This is the best book about the end-times that I've ever read! The author has obviously spent many, many hours researching this topic. I certainly hope he writes another book soon - we need it!

Salerno's nearly 20 years of painstaking research results in the most thorough, convincing treatment of the Pre-Wrath Rapture theory. Unfortunately the proofreader rates a D with lots of typographic misspellings, grammatical unclarities, and plainly unintended misstatements. Nevertheless the thoroughly literal and chronological interpretation of scripture is most convincing. Come Lord Jesus and help us to stand until You do!

5.0 out of 5 stars A word from the author, February 10, 2004
This review is from: Revelation Unsealed (Paperback)
If you have been searching for a book on Revelation which simplistically, insightfully and systematically presents and integrated concrete overview of the book of Revelation then you will enjoy Revelation Unsealed. This is the first book that addresses the entire text of Revelation from what is termed the Pre-Wrath Rapture perspective. Also presented is a fresh biblical perspective on the rise of the Antichrist which is sure to cause debate. The contents will challenge both the newest believer and the seasoned biblical scholar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revelation Unsealed, June 30, 2009
This review is from: Revelation Unsealed (Paperback)
This is a very comprehensive commentary on the book of Revelations from a Pre-Wrath perspective. This book challenged many of my pre-conceived notions and caused me to rethink my own position. It is an excellent work, especially considering that it is written by a layman. Salerno has laid out his arguments in a persuasive and thoroughly researched manner. It is much more readable than most other scholarly tomes, which, quite frankly, might bore one to tears. This book is for anyone seeking to understand the timing of the rapture and not just to accept the popularized position accepted by many in the evangelical community. This book will make you think. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't overlook this book, February 6, 2006
This review is from: Revelation Unsealed (Paperback)
It's nice when a prophecy book is published that is not a pop culture type of prophecy book. It's enjoyable when I find a book that offers a few possibilities that I had not previously considered. It's exciting when I read a book that reveals a few facts that I had also overlooked. Revelation Unsealed contains all three qualities. Salerno's book is an enjoyable read that is probably suitable for any believer interested in the book of Revelation. Don't overlook this book.
