Worth A Read,
By
This review is from: Revelation Unveiled (Paperback)
After reading all of the reviews, I thought I would provide my viewpoint. I am about halfway through this book and I have to say that he makes some good points. I am in the process of determining my viewpoint, pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib. I don't agree with everything Lehaye says and at times I think he stretches pretty far to make a point, but it has caused me to dig deeper into the Bible and determine for myself. The book of Revelation is an interesting book and is opened for a lot of interpretation. This book will give you a good pre-trib viewpoint. As for all the anti-catholic statements and Lehaye's condemnation of the view of non-pretribers, don't take it personally. Just consider his views as just that, his views and put brains in your faith and do your own study. As always, do not rely on just one commentary, read a bunch, most of all the Bible and when in doubt ask God for clarification. I am currently a pan-triber, it will all pan out in the end. In the meantime, read this book and use it along with other commentaries and the Bible to make up your own mind.

Biblically Sound! A Must Read for Any Believer,
This review is from: Revelation Unveiled (Paperback)
Tim LaHays' Revelation Unveilved is a valuable source for any Believer's library. LaHaye explains Revelation for the layman, including charts and graphs to allow the reader to see a full picture of what is happening. As for the references to the Catholic Church, they are sad, but true. There are many wonderful Catholics who have been saved through Faith in Jesus Christ, but sadly there are many more who have not. This book provides insight into the history of their church and exposes some of the Pagan roots of the Roman Catholic Church. Every Catholic should read this and take the words of Revelation to Heart. I commend LaHaye for bringing the message of the gospel in almost every chapter of the book, which I believe was LaHaye's purpose for writing it. LaHaye reminds us to be prepared for the Rapture of the Church and to pay heed to our Commission from Jesus to be evangelists to all the Nations. Please read this book and watch and pray! Love in Christ!

Outstanding,

Don't believe Mr. Absurd above. As a scholar myself, I find this book completely credible and well written. Lahaye does attack the Catholic Church, but only by providing historical evidence in refuting its many accessory practices never dreamed of by the Apostolic Church. I'll take Scripture alone as a basis of my Faith anyday over the legalistic practices of the Catholic traditions. A great commentary on Revelation for any believer.

This was a good read. Tim LaHaye explained in simple terms and used illustrations to let you see the book of Revelation not as scary metaphors, but as a comprehensive collection of details that makes you ponder the possiblities of the end times. I recommend this book to those on the fence about the end of days and for Christians that are trying to explain the Tribulation to the unsaved and back slidders. Did I mention that this book was written in the early 70's? One would ask "how did he know?" I say to all it's not too late to order this book and get right with Jesus.

Liberal Christians hate it, and that says <strike>a lot</strike> it all in my book! As for the book itself, it is a clear, practical look at the Book of Revelation. If folks don't like this book it is because they are fearful of what the Book of Revelation tells us is going to happen to the unbelieving and apostate amongst us. Christians you will LOVE this book if you struggle to understand the Book of Revelation.

very helpful!!,
This review is from: Revelation Unveiled (Paperback)
I found this to be a very helpful book. The way Dr. LaHaye offers information and scripture to back up what he believes is very well pointed out. When the author goes off and tells what he personnaly believes to be true, he makes it clear by saying "based upon the scripture this is what I believe".. It's a challenging book. If you don't like being challenged to read and dig deeper into scripture I don't recommend this book or any other one written by a Christian author!! Dr. LaHaye doesn't sugar coat the scriptures, but offers a very understandable viewpoint on how things are going to happen, he doesn't do anything different than what a preacher would do on a Sunday service.. If you read the Left Behind series or watched the movies, you can see what he believes to be true, that <u>doesn't mean it's 100% true.</u> This is the scriptual backing to the fictional books, and movie. He does offer other viewpoints, and explains a little about what other people think, but his main focus is on what he believes to be true.. this shouldn't take anyone off guard for it makes sense when reading Revelation along with the book.. You can't really get upset with him offering <u>his view</U> of how things are going to happen.. He makes it clear in his book, when he's talking about what he has come to believe, and offers scripture to back it up! I recommend this to people who aren't going to be upset with someone for sharing what they believe to be true, and offering scripture to back it up!

Outstanding, easily understood and thorough,
By Ken Zollo (Sandy, UT USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revelation Unveiled (Paperback)
After reading the Left Behind series, I wanted to know more about the prophecies used to create the story. Although I'm familiar with biblical prophecy and the book of Revelations, I didn't realize how little I understood until reading this book. The discussion is thorough but easily followed. The various interpretations are discussed in detail with explainations as to why the author prefers one over the others. I particularly enjoyed the discussion of church history as it applied to the seven churches. Although I'm not Catholic, I felt the discussion of the Catholic Church was factual and well argued. In short, the book is outstanding and a "must read" for any one interested in the "End Times".

Anti-Catholic? Or Does The Truth Just Hurt?,
By Vince Wylde "vincewylde" (Lancaster, MA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revelation Unveiled (Paperback)
Ok, I've read enough reviews here that I had to counter all the angry "Catholic Clubbers" with some fire of my own. Yes, this book comes down hard on Catholicism. Why? Primarily, because so much witchcraft has entered the church since it's conception that it can easily be tagged as one of the 7 churches mentioned in the bible.
Dr. LeHaye outlines every aspect of Paganism that is mirrored by the Catholic church in their own way. Somewhere along the way while trying to counter Pagan rituals and Pagan holidays, the Catholic Church inadvertantly started its own pagan rituals such as: Praying to the Saints (no where in the bible does it ever suggest this is ok), Spell Casting (Prayer of St. Jude of Novena, Hail Mary), Rituals (Candle Lighting in ceremonial fashion), the list goes on and on. In FACT, many Wiccans practice both Catholicism AND their own Pagan cermonies for the very reason that they are very similar. Ever seen a bumper-sticker that says, "Call The Corners and Pray the Rosary"? They're out there! While it is evident throughout one certain chapter breaking down the 7 churches, it simply is not the crux of the book which is; a strong arguement for the Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory. The book breaks down piece by piece the mysterious book of revelation, it also relates to the 70 weeks - largely because of the misinformed belief that the 70 weeks already happened by certain religions in Christianianity. It gives you timelines, charts and other useful grpahics to argue it's point. There are 3 theories to the rapture, and unlike previous reviewers have suggested, the pre-trib is NOT based in tradition. One reviewer lamented something about the prediction of a 1981 and 1988 rapture. Anyone who reads this book, along with other books of the same topic OR the other 2 theories will realize, "You know not the day or the hour." However, one thing CAN be said, without a rapture, you CAN know the day or the hour by counting down from 7.

Another great book by Tim La Haye! It's so important to study Revelation to know what's going to happen in the future. All Christians and non-Christians owe it to themselves to study this book. The Book of Revelation warns us to hear God's word and take care to know what's coming!
