4.0 out of 5 stars EPCHS-English Review-Breanna P., February 24, 2009
SPOILER ALERT!! DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THIS BOOK YET!!!

Revelations is the third book in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa De La Cruz. A darker, more gripping plot suffuses this book with more action and suspense than the other two in the series, not to mention the deepening of relationships and betrayals in the world of blue bloods.
Schuyler Van Alen has been uprooted from her home when she was adopted by Charles Force. Now, she has been "forced" (sorry, bad pun) into living at the Force's Manhattan brownstone where her crush, Jack Force, and her rival, Mimi Force, live. But Jack seems to ignore her even worse than before, and Mimi only acknowledges Schuyler to criticize her.
One day, Schuyler finds a book stuck under her door, with a hotel key stuck inside. She knows it is from Jack and decides to meet him there. She continues to secretly meet with him even though they both know that Mimi is planning her and Jack's bonding ceremony. Jack tells Schuyler that for once, he might defy the eternal tradition of bonding with Mimi, because Jack says that over the centuries, he's always felt that something was missing (and that that something was Schuyler).
Schuyler decides to make Oliver her familiar, even though he is her Conduit, and it is illegal to drink your Conduit's blood. The first time Schuyler tries to make Oliver her familiar, she kisses him, but he bails out on her because he says that it is not right. However, he come to change his mind when he sees that she is getting weaker and weaker. When Schuyler drank Oliver's blood, she glimpsed every though and memory he had ever had, and she discovered that Oliver loved her. Now their friendship was ruined, because when you make someone your familiar, they can never love another person romantically for the rest of their life.
After Bliss sees Dylan again, she chooses not to tell anyone, because she is afraid that he might be a Silver-Blood and she does not want the Committee to take him away from her. When Dylan, by chance, sees Schuyler, he starts to attack her and calls them both Silver-Bloods. She fearfully turns Dylan over to a rehabilitation center for blue bloods, even though she is still not sure if he was the one who murdered Aggie and been turned into a Silver-Blood. Bliss is still having blackouts, but now she always sees a man in a white suit, but doesn't know who he is.
Mimi joins the Conclave, a board of blue bloods that helps vampires world-wide with the Silver-Blood attacks. Lawrence Van Alen was elected head chairman, stealing the spot from Charles Force (this happened in Masquerade). Kingsley turns out to be a suspicious character from a traditionally Silver-Blood family that renounced it's ways of evil.
Bliss's little sister, Jordan, is also acting suspiciously. Jordan was always treated condescendingly by her mother and father, then Bliss discovers that Jordan was shoved into their family, that it was not a choice that they made willingly.
Schuyler, Bliss, and Oliver fly to Rio, where the Conclave meeting is being held. When they get to the hotel, they discover that everything seems fine, that the feeling that something bad was going to happen was gone when they saw Lawrence safe. In fact, Lawrence was going to a party for the Conclave.
At the party, Mimi witnesses a horrible scene. The family that was hosting turned out to be on the Silver-Bloods side, and they were murdering the Conclave by the masses. It turns out that Mimi's suspicions about Kingsley were false, that he was not a traitor as she thought.
Meanwhile, a giant force is stirring. It turns out that in Rio de Janeiro , under Christ the Redeemer's statue, a Silver-Blood called Leviathan is attempting to break out of his prison. Lawrence, Oliver, Schuyler, and Bliss try to stop a Silver-Blood. Schuyler takes her sword and tries to stab it, but misses. Lawrence kills it, but ends up getting killed himself. The Silver-Blood that is killed turns out to be Dylan, but it was an illusion to get Dylan killed. He was only being controlled by Silver-Bloods. The real Silver-Blood turns out to be Bliss, and she was the one that killed Aggie and the Conclave and set their house on fire, and much more, which is why she was getting black-outs. She thinks that the man in the white-suit is probably Lucifer, telling her what to do

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth the read, October 29, 2008
So Revelations was an intersting book. It was far to short but it keeps a good pace and doesnt drag scenes on and on like some books can. De la cruz is not opposed to killing her characters off, so if you are a reader that wants the perfect ending were everyone is happy, this is not your book. Positvely, i feel it was a great story line, i started the book after reading Twilight because i was in need of a vampire fix in between the twilight books, and the Blue Bloods serious did not dissapoint, its very different from the twilight saga but its good in its own right.

Target is a good place to get the book beacuse of the exclusive chapter you get online with it, and let me say the chapter is goooood.

The whole Mimi, Schelyer, Jack romance well help keep the plot moving and Bliss's nightmares, Dylan showing up again half crazed hits the whats going to happen next factor....The silverbloods idenity gives the book the mystery, suspense feel. The next book in this serious will be quit good if she can resolve some of the torrid love affaris and tell us more about what the silver bloods have planned and done in Rio.

Oh, and Iv now read three books that all host Rio De Janero as a popular city in vampire lore.

So its a little educational too. ahah

4.0 out of 5 stars Best book of the series; the plot is intricate and fast-paced, June 30, 2009
This is the third book in the Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz. I thought this one was the best of the series; I would give it 4.5 stars if I could!

In this book things are coming to a head. The Silver Bloods are evidently somehow infiltrated into some of the prestigious Blue Bloods families but no one knows who or where. With Lawrence running the council things are changing at Duchesne school. The students are now learning more about how to defend themselves. Things are getting worse for Bliss; who instead of just having blackouts is now plagued by horrible visions while awake too. Something is wrong in South America and Lawrence is called away to deal with it. Schuyler spends time in misery when she is adopted by Charles Force; she also spends a lot of time in this book trying to reconcile her relationships with Oliver and Jack. Mimi spends most of her time planning her bonding with Jack; when she isn't making Schuyler miserable.

This book had a much faster pace then the second one. The plot line twisted again and again; which I actually thought was well done and enjoyed. I thought this book, more than any of the previous ones, really kept you on your toes mentally and kept you second-guessing yourself. I thought this book really set the stage nicely and made the series into something bigger than high school girls that are super pretty and happen to be vampires.

There are, of course, the prerequisite modeling scenes. I actually enjoy reading about these so they don't detract from the story for me. The amount of time Schuyler spent whining about whether or not she loves Oliver or Jack got seriously annoying; but as the plot moved along she didn't have time to dwell on this forever.

As I said, I thought this was the best book of the series. I liked how complicated the plot got at the end and how dire circumstances end up. I think the story was well tied up, but leaves you wondering what will happen in the bigger picture. I loved that there was a lot more action in this book too! This book finally made me really excited about this series :-)
