5.0 out of 5 stars An all out good game
A great game. You play as a young boy studying the powers of Gaia. Then trouble begins to stir and you find yourself begining to embark upon a long, dangerous, journey. Along the journey, you pick up two friends, Kishe and Uranus, and together with them you recruite and lead an army of monsters to bring peace to the land.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great Pokemon clone
For those of you who have played Pokemon, and can't get enough of collecting monsters, this may be the game for you. The story is that you try to convince monsters to join your party and then run around fighting various baddies. Not as cute or appealing as Pokemon, but an interesting way to pass the time on the subway.

The game is neither really good nor really bad, but if you, like me, can't get a copy of Pokemon Yellow then you might want to give this one a try.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Gameboy Color Game played!, June 19, 2001

This is the best game that I had ever played for Gameboy color! I urge you to buy this game as soon as possible. It is similar to the Pokemon series, although you negoitate to alow the monsters to join your party. Also, the monsters dont level so you need to combine to make stronger and stronger monsters to handle all of the enimies! This was the game that made me buy a Gameboy Color! Sometimes I just turn on the game and start to battle! I also recomend Dragon Warrior Monsters. Again, I urge you to buy this game!

this is one of the best rpg's i've played for the gb. It's got great replay value, you can get monsters to join you, you get to mix monsters and create new ones, and you get more than 1 character (you get 3) which is unlike alot of rpg's out there anymore...

4.0 out of 5 stars Well done RPG, April 20, 2001

Unfortunately, I didn't get to finish playing this game because it was stolen from my car during the night. I was about half way through the game though, so I got a pretty good picture of what this game is like.

This game has little to no story-line, pretty much the story goes that you are a boy learning the arts of Gaia when some evil begins to stir in the land. You must venture forth through the land trying to get to the source of the evil. That's about the whole story line, all you do is go in one direction toward something that you have to defeat at the end. There are no surprises or twists in the storyline.

Even though the storyline was bland, I gave this game four stars because of the unique monster system. You have to, get this, talk to monsters to get them to join your side. Once a monster is on your side, he can fight in your party along with the three main characters. Also, you can combine two monsters with one of the character's special abilities to get a more powerful, different monster.

The battles aren't a piece of cake either, they are pretty hard in some places. Altogether, this is a well built RPG with the rest of the game making up for the bad story-line

This game is incredible! the story is great, and the plot is good too. it is NOT a copy of pokemon as alot of people are saying i think, in my own opinion that it is better than pokemon because it is a bigger, more detailed game. You an combine monsters and you have to negotiate if you want them on your team. i think that the negotiation is interesting because in pokemon you dont have a atleast a conversation but in Revelations you get to sort of relate to your monster.

3.0 out of 5 stars Amusing yet tedious, January 4, 2000

The game concept is actually pretty decent and the actual gameplay is amusing. The recruitment negotiations are a hit or miss although using several chosen monsters to do the talking instead of the main character is a good idea. I didn't particularly care for the amount of text - its a good thing you can change how fast the text types on screen. Also, the need to back out of the menu is tedious. I would have preferred to be able to hit one button to bring me back to the main screen. If that's an option, I haven't found it yet. One major fallback is if your character loses a battle he/she is transported to the inn of their main town. This means having to traverse back out again which can become too repetitive. I've enjoyed what I've played thus far, having the option to save in 3 files is useful and recommended prior to going in to "dangerous" situations. Its an entertaining game and I think those who do get it may find it fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars As Siskel and Ebert would put it, "I give it two thumbs up!", November 25, 1999

This RPG is one of the best I have played. It is second only to Pokemon. So if you are into RPG's and you have played and/or own Pokemon, try Revelations: The Demon Slayer. Even if you don't like RPG's you have to at least try this game.

Great way to pass the time in the car, bus or airplane ride, one of Gameboys best RPGs, it has a very interesting concept and many hours of gameplay. You should definately give this one a try!
