This review is from: Revell 1:13 Ankylosaurus (Tank) Dinosaur (Toy)
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed with this one...
It's probably just me, but I really expected this guy to be larger; he comes in at about half the size of a triceratops. I bought this kit as a quick and dirty way to do a conversion for a table-top miniature wargame (Warhammer 40K) and I am 100% satisfied!! He will probably make a good tank carriage and fit pretty well into my Mutant Space Chicken (Kroot Mercs) barbarian horde... The kit goes together pretty easy with or without glue - I used glue, but the pieces snapped together pretty confidently. There were some mold lines that had to be cleaned off, especially on the jaw and feet. The mouth is not articulated like the spiked dino or triceratops - disappointing... Because I was gluing the seams, I was able to use rubber bands to close some small gaps along the legs. The plaque that comes with the kit doesn't seem to be intended to mount any specific place on the display base and it's left out of the instructions... I have yet to paint this little guy... For a first kit, this one is pretty nice. I will be buying more of these in the near future...
