The Apollo Saturn V was used in the Apollo manned spacecraft program of the late ?60s and ?70s. Weighing more than 3,000 tons, it developed over one million pounds of thrust and was the largest and most awesome rocket ever created. On the morning of July 16, 1969, Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin ?Buzz? Aldrin and Michael Collins were perched atop a mighty SATURN V launch vehicle in preparation for their historic journey to the barren lunar surface.
Features include:
•Detailed service and lunar landing modules plus three stages can be assembled separately, then locked together to build one unit
•Units can be separated again to show individual modules
•Launching pad display stand
•Authentic decal markings
•Illustrated assembly instructions

Very Satisfied! Wrapped in plastic, the box was light for shipment. All the pieces were there and with alittle trimming-it fit and glued up well.I'm not a good painter. But even the instructions were very helpfull in spotting the right places to paint. It all turned out better than the first one I made and later lost in the early 70's.I'd suggest it for any Son(Daughter)and Father project. All though I'd also say that the Mother-Daughter(Son),Or-Space fans out there too-will find pride I've felt as I ventured into this handsom model(Saturn V Rocket). In fact! I keep it on display in my livingroom.Order through the company I did and I feel you won't be disatisfided at all.Worth every penny!:)

I'm experienced enough of a model builder to know this needed glue & paint. However, I was surprised when I opened the box. I thought the black markings on the model would be decals! Opps. I quickly learned that the black paint is not all symmetrical on the real Saturn V and the model has the same type of corrugations on the side as in real life. The following is meant as much of a review as it is humor at my expense. It goes together well. No, it is not a perfect replication of the Saturn V and no, without serious work, it is not worthy of a model competition. It is very realistic in how the stages separate; the Lunar Model unfolds/opens to show the LM, which has folding legs. Recommended for Apollo buffs, those who want an affordable representation of this engineering marvel (no sarcasm intended). This is not a toy, must be handled carefully or it will break. Painting this was harder than I thought. Masking tape & spray paint, right? Well, first time not so good. I tried remaking & painting it again & it was worse. Let's call that mistake number 1. I tried touching it up. That was mistake #2. At this point, I really should have opened the window and tossed it to see how far it would fly. OK, now I've invested almost as many man hours as the real NASA folks and gained a better appreciation for how hard it is to build a rocket. Go to local hardware store, get paint thinner (anyone who builds models regularly is probably rolling on floor right now - why am I admitting this?) Strip it down and start all over - great idea for the stubborn, determined and never admit defeat types. Let's call that attitude mistake number 3. The thinner works, but also dissolved the glue! So, after many, many hours, I now have a disassembled, partially painted Saturn V. That is not the model makers fault. There is hope that I may one day finish this, if I do, I will always chuckle at myself. At over 3 feet tall, it does make an impressive display...if painted correctly. Hope y'all have better luck/skill than I painting.

I bought this for my 9 year old son who is an avid rocket fan, especially the Saturn V rockets. He has thoroughly enjoyed putting it together, including using the plastic cement. It does need to be put together using this cement, since it doesn't snap together.
