Very Satisfied! Wrapped in plastic, the box was light for shipment. All the pieces were there and with alittle trimming-it fit and glued up well.I'm not a good painter. But even the instructions were very helpfull in spotting the right places to paint. It all turned out better than the first one I made and later lost in the early 70's.I'd suggest it for any Son(Daughter)and Father project. All though I'd also say that the Mother-Daughter(Son),Or-Space fans out there too-will find pride I've felt as I ventured into this handsom model(Saturn V Rocket). In fact! I keep it on display in my livingroom.Order through the company I did and I feel you won't be disatisfided at all.Worth every penny!:)

I'm experienced enough of a model builder to know this needed glue & paint. However, I was surprised when I opened the box. I thought the black markings on the model would be decals! Opps. I quickly learned that the black paint is not all symmetrical on the real Saturn V and the model has the same type of corrugations on the side as in real life. The following is meant as much of a review as it is humor at my expense. It goes together well. No, it is not a perfect replication of the Saturn V and no, without serious work, it is not worthy of a model competition. It is very realistic in how the stages separate; the Lunar Model unfolds/opens to show the LM, which has folding legs. Recommended for Apollo buffs, those who want an affordable representation of this engineering marvel (no sarcasm intended). This is not a toy, must be handled carefully or it will break. Painting this was harder than I thought. Masking tape & spray paint, right? Well, first time not so good. I tried remaking & painting it again & it was worse. Let's call that mistake number 1. I tried touching it up. That was mistake #2. At this point, I really should have opened the window and tossed it to see how far it would fly. OK, now I've invested almost as many man hours as the real NASA folks and gained a better appreciation for how hard it is to build a rocket. Go to local hardware store, get paint thinner (anyone who builds models regularly is probably rolling on floor right now - why am I admitting this?) Strip it down and start all over - great idea for the stubborn, determined and never admit defeat types. Let's call that attitude mistake number 3. The thinner works, but also dissolved the glue! So, after many, many hours, I now have a disassembled, partially painted Saturn V. That is not the model makers fault. There is hope that I may one day finish this, if I do, I will always chuckle at myself. At over 3 feet tall, it does make an impressive display...if painted correctly. Hope y'all have better luck/skill than I painting.

I bought this for my 9 year old son who is an avid rocket fan, especially the Saturn V rockets. He has thoroughly enjoyed putting it together, including using the plastic cement. It does need to be put together using this cement, since it doesn't snap together.

Great kit! I haven't built one since the early 1970's when they were still heading to the moon. My 11 year old daughter took over on this one (with a little help from dad on the painting) for a school project. It is not difficult to build but recommend taking your time - so not to glue pieces designed to be removed for a simulated flight. You will need model glue and paints. Recommend doing a little research if you want the paint job to be accurate for the manned missions. It is a super model we both highly recommend.

This is a great model for a science class or just for the young aspiring astronaut. When assembled, it shows a very descent representation of the Saturn V Rocket. In fact, I was amazed at the level of detail per price factor. I must warn that once this model is finished, you can but you shouldn't use it as a toy. Kids might pretend their are flying it, but should NOT play rough with it. If you are looking for a full time toy, then this is not for your child. Consider then a plastic o die cast version. Remember, this is a MODEL KIT. And speaking of model kits, 99% of them do NOT include the glue/cement. It is made out of styrene and this is the perfect glue for it: Quick Dry Cement w/Applicator, 1oz. This cement is a bit more expensive than the tube version Cement For Plastic, Value Pack but it is way easier to control the amount of cement due to the bottle design. If you choose the tube and you are not used to it, I wouldn't be surprised to see excess cement on you Saturn Kit.

Assembly of this model was fun and educational. I have wanted this model since I was a child and finally purchased it for the enjoyment of myself and youngest daughter to assemble together. The actual assembly is very basic and straight forward but the paint diagram can be tricky. The diagram has a few differences than the photos shown on the box. This could be caused by the fact that the Saturn V moon rocket had a different paint scheme then that that of the Saturn VB and the Saturn V Skylab rockets. But, overall it is not really that big a deal if you are just trying to have fun with your child. Go ahead and have some fun and build a part of history, just remember though. It's not a toy to play with. It is for static display.

This was my first model in a long time that you have to glue and paint, and I am pleasantly surprised at how easy it was for me to figure out. The instructions are very plainly written with diagrams of each piece. I am still working on painting it, bit by bit. I would have liked for there to already be lines on the outside of the rocket to show which parts should be painted black or white (I kinda had to look at the diagram and wing it) but overall, it hasn't been too hard. I am also using photos I took of the Saturn V on display at the U.S Space and Rocket Center for color reference. The fact that you can take it apart and see all the different stages is my favorite thing about this model. And it stands about three feet tall fully assembled, so it is quite impressive. All in all, I love this model and am looking forward to purchasing more of Revell's model kits. Next up, the International Space Station!

The model itself is pretty impressive. It comes with more pieces than many of the ones I have looked at. However, it does not include the glue so, unless you know about models, it is a bit tough to figure out which glue you need to use.
