This review is from: Revell 1:24 77 JEEP CJ7 Renegade 2 'n 1 (Toy)
I bought this model to build it after my real-life 1978 Jeep CJ-7. Obviously this is not actually the right year, but Jeep seems to have put the "NO" in "inNOvation"... My Jeep has some modifications that I have reflected in this model. Some notes to the more serious hobbyist:
- This model includes the AMC 360 V8 engine (my real Jeep has a 258 L6, which I built the model version from scratch) - The roll-bar mounting points do not match the roll bar on my vehicle! On my Jeep (and most other CJ-7's i've seen) the front of the roll bar mounts on the floor. This model has the roll bar mount on the wheel well. - This model is difficult to modify for a suspension lift. - Quality of tires and wheels is lacking. Not very realistic. - does not include window glass for side windows. - Interior Rear view mirror is difficult to position and mount (common on car models) - does not include footman loops (hood, windshield), Turn signal arm, foot brake pedal, battery leads, coolant reservoir, washer fluid reservoir, wiper motor cover, and several other stock items. - Scale and detail is accurate. - Passenger mirror requires modification (model mirrors are symmetrical, Jeep mirrors are at different angles) overall: good model, but lacking in realism in several areas. Can be easily modified, or just as easily ignored. Recommended for amateur hobbyists, or a pro who enjoys making his own parts. |
