Normal Revell quality kit car. Had a few extra pieces that r interchangeable but there were no instructions on where to put them and the hood didn't open much to show the engine unless u mod it. Other than that it was a great model

This was a really fun model to put together. The parts are of good quality and detail and the instructions are simple to follow. There are a few parts that are interchangeable but they are not shown in the instructions. These parts are mostly engine parts that build a Mustang GT engine. Also, the grill can be changed to a Mustang GT with the 2 fog lights as opposed to the GT 500 with Cobra logo. You also get an option of silver or black racing stripes.

The instructions tell you to paint the engine parts and many other parts but I didn't do that. I decided to have the hood closed. It would be pointless for me to pain those parts if they are not very visible. Even if you decide to leave the hood open, it opens up only about 0.5", which is not a lot. I painted the whole interior black, the outside dark blue, and since I had red and orange pain, I painted the tail lights red and hazard lights orange. The wheels do spin but are very fragile since they are glued to a small plastic piece.

The racing stripes can get pretty annoying at times, especially on the bumpers. The bumpers don't have straight edges but are rather curvy, so it might get a bit hard trying to apply the entire decal on them evenly. The decal that goes in between the top grill and the bottom grill is twice as long as it needs to be and had to be cut. Also another issue I ran into was that after you put the round cobra emblem on the trunk, you will not be able to apply the original decal. I had to modify mine and make the hole in the decal bigger to fit around the cobra emblem. The steps should be painting the trunk first, applying the decal and then adding the cobra emblem. The instructions don't tell you this.

Overall, this model was a lot of fun, took a few hours to build and I recommend it.

Rating for fun and durability is a bit misleading, because the model is intended for collector display, not playroom activity. It's exactly what was wanted, looks great, is properly proportioned, and appears to be an accurate replica. Nice detail work. Right price, prompt shipping.

good plastic model of the 500KR . Plenty of room for detailing work. Great addition to any mustang collection.
