The year 1948 was Ford's last year for its all-new body style which had debuted in 1941. By its final year, the design had evolved into what was probably the best looking car of a five-year run. The teaser ads for the 1948 Ford exclaimed "There's a Ford in Your Future", but in reality the '48 marked the end of an era. The tall, separate-fendered bodies would soon give way to a new slab sided, lower and leaner look that would change car design forever.
