My son is 4 yrs old and loves the Titanic. He and his dad built and painted together. The only thing he is disapointed about is he can't take it in the bath :). We have only had it a few weeks but he has had HOURS of fun with that little ship!! Thanks

For more than 40 years, I've had great fun building some variation of this classic Revell kit. Although I do agree that the model should have been better advertised as such, and Amazon needs to have a more dedicated Hobby/Model/Crafts section, it is still something that parents should be paying close attention to when they look through the various ads here and elsewhere for a product.

The kit itself is still easy to put together as always, and if you are properly prepared, it can come out looking quite beautiful. Parents wishing to teach the value of patience as well as educate them about the lost liner will want to buy this kit. I do recommend spending time with your child as this is not truly a kit for beginners, and many tools, the glue, and other materials can be very dangerous for a young child to handle without supervision.

For more experianced modelers and knowledgable Titanic buffs, the kit is a bit of a disappointment as it has not been altered very much in the last 30 years, even when other kits have to reflect new discoveries about the ship that were not known when the kit was first created. Because of that, from an accuracy standpoint, the kit will need signficant changes, which unfortunately means a great deal of scratch-building or purchasing of expensive accurizing kits. At least they can also be used as good practice for building the Titanic's sister ships Olympic and Britannic, or making a small-scale diorama of the wreck before tackling a more challenging effort using one of the much more expensive large-scale kits.

In short, a good first time model kit for a child, or a friend who is interested in the great and tragic ship, and can quickly assemble in their spare time, this is the model for them.

The model itself looks like it would be great, but if you order it from Amazon that you can bet it will arrive smashed to bits. The packaging was horrible. When I called Amazon they told me they couldn't replace the item because they didn't "own it," and that I would have to send it back and then reorder...only to have it sent back to me with the same packaging. Extremely bad customer service...they do a poor job, but the consumer is expected to do the leg work to fix it.

This is your typical Revell Model. Of course you have to glue it together and paint it. And no the glue and paint arent in the box.

My son and I had no trouble with this. It just takes time and patience.

Got this for my nephew, he is a Titanic buff, fun and easy way for him to learn about the ship.

I bought this toy to my 6-year old son. He had been expecting a colourful model of "Titanic". Instead, when he opened the box, he found a set of white plastic pieces that are pretty far away from the picture that is shown above. No glue nor paint are provided in the box. My son's expression was of certain disappointment.

We started assembling the pieces, and, hopefully, the model will be ready soon.However, this is not what we both expected. We feel cheated.

We give 3 stars, because the details of the model look very realistic and we have figured out the final product as a decent one. Otherwise, we would have returned the toy immediately.

I got this as a Christmas gift for my son. I was unhappy at first cause its not made clear in the discription that you had to assemble yourself and that paint and glue are not included. I contacted the seller by phone and was told that he would correct the problem. He did not evade responsibility and that meant a lot to me. I decided to keep the item due to the level of understanding by the seller plus I think it would be a fun project for me and my son to do together. After I made it clear that I would be keeping the product, the seller decided to go ahead and give me a full refound on my shipping and I saw the refound in my account just minutes later. I thank Megahobby for it's fast response and coutesy. Also, I feel it's important to note that I was told I would not receive this item until after Christmas, on the 29th to be exact but I got it on the 24th, 5 days early and just in time for Christmas. Thank you again to my friends at Megahobby.

It was a nice gift to give ,as my grandson had asked his dad about the Titanic.

I bought this for my Son. I didn't know at the time that it was an actual model that required to be put together and painted. This was a huge mistake. The model came as a bunch of white plastic pieces that requires to be cut free, trimmed, sanded,glued, painted. I've own two of these models now. the first one had short spots in the plastic and broke. With my son crying about the broken ship I had to run to town to buy another model. The second model wasn't that much better. Some of the longer pieces were warped in both kits. Which made parts of the ship not line up. I did manage to get the second one together, but it's nothing worth looking at. This was a huge mistake and if it wasn't for my son I would have just thrown it in the trash.

I bought this for myself but i was disappointed because i thought it would come together, but i should have fun biulding it with my mom
