The British Hawker MK 1B Typhoon became one of the most formidable weapons during the Second World War, both as a bomber interceptor and ground support fighter. The largest and the most powerful of its time, it was powered by a 2,260 hp Napier Sabre engine and had a top speed of 417 mph. It could climb to 20,000 feet in only 7.6 minutes.
