This model kit rocks. Detail and sharpness of mold is great. As this is a pre-painted snaptite kit, you don't need paint or glue to get a very attractive model of Boba Fett's iconic ship. Revell's paint job is very faithful to Episode V. The weathering isn't bad for a mass-produced, not-so-expensive model.

I'm a busy guy and wanted to have a model that doesn't look too "toyish", but takes minimal time/effort to assemble. I put mine together in under an hour while watching tv, and this is while carefully cutting the parts from the sprues and using a hobby knife to smooth the parts off. You do need to decide whether you want the ship displayed for flight or in a landed position, since Boba Fett's control seat doesn't allow for rotation between the two after you've completed assembly.

If you are very dedicated, you can use cement and then paint to get rid of the prominent seam at the midline of the ship above and below the canopy. Otherwise, the design of the model was excellent at minimizing visible junctions between pieces. Also the more serious modeler can consider applying a wash to bring out the panel lines.

This is not really a good toy for young kids. High detail and the ability to be thrown across a room and survive are usually mutually exclusive. "No disintegrations!" For a geeky grown-up with a busy work schedule and a Peter Pan complex this is great!

I plan to hang this on the ceiling engaged in battle against the Snaptite Millenium Falcon which I also highly recommend.

The model is larger than I suspected from its price. It is pre-painted, and the paint job looks decent, boba f. is a little odd looking but he's small enough that it isn't noticeable. There isn't a ton of interior details, but then only a portion of the interior is visible through the cockpit lens and this area is sufficiently detailed. There is also the option of securing the cockpit seating arrangement in either flight or landing position, but only in one position or the other. It doesn't pivot (in the "real" ship it pivots). Really a very nice snap-tite model for the price! It looks very cool.

I got this as a way to introduce my 8 year old into "real models" rather than Lego kits, which are crazy expensive and don't really do well for playing with - they fall apart unless you glue them, which is a monumental PITA. My son was able to put this together with minimal help from Dad and he plays with it. Yes, he PLAYS with it. For me, that was the big seller, because I don't know how many tears I've had to wipe away from him having to rebuild his LEGO kits.

This is the second Revell Star Wars model kit I've built, the first was the X-Wing, and I have to say it was really great. I'm pretty new to building models and after the X-Wing took me about 30 minutes I finished this one in almost half the time.

I hate to admit it but I really love these little easy kits. I've been building scale models for going on 20 years now and these little kits are fun and all things considering pretty well done as far as accuracy is concerned.

This one is by far one of the best when it comes to the paint job and detail using not only a broader choice of colors with the pain but also including detailed weathering as well.

The attention to the actual detail of the kit is also outstanding for the fact that you're talking about a kit that cost me $9.99. It actually has movable parts a cockpit with the hinge in the glass and what assembled is just a very sturdy piece all the way around.

Revell does a great job on these little kits but this one is definitely one of the best even for what is a very good line. Took me about three hours to do this to get it done the right way, using styrene welder and making sure to sand and buff pieces to hide seams and cement joints. The model came out very well. The only thing I really want to go back and fix is the big visible seam that one's down the middle of the main body of the ship. That won't be difficult, as all need to do is sand it down and then touch it up with a little paint in weathering.

If you want a fun little diversion on your weekend, these easy kids fit the bill. You'll especially enjoy this one. The only thing I wish it would've come with is Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. That would've been just awesome. Oh well.

This was a gift for my Dad for Father's Day. It's pretty nice looking, and bigger than most people would expect for something like this. It looks rather nice for something that's pre-painted.

(he's super excited and loves it~)

I put this model together with my five year old grandson reading the numbers and finding the parts. Some of the pieces need some sanding and some of the pieces need some glue. My grandson wants to do more models of this type.

As other have said it is a great introductory model or a great model for those who do not have the time, patience or skills to paint a model but still would like something more than a simple toy to display. Revell has a nice niche with these easy kits. Which is why I rate it at 5 stars for it's category. Even the pre-paint on this kit is better than most of the other pre-paints on the Revell kits.

The scale is somewhere between 1/74 and 1/87. While it is smaller than the Fine Molds 1/72 version, the pilot figures are pretty close in size.

That doesn't mean that the more serious modeler should pas on this kit. It gives an excellent starting point to turn it into a real showpiece model. It actually compares quite favorably to the Fine Molds 1/72 version in most of the detail. The areas that fall short compared to the Fine Molds are due to the simplification on the sides of the wings and some of the bottom to avoid undercuts and cut down on the number of molded pieces needed to assemble. All of that is fairly easy to fix though. The cockpit is the only real letdown, but again can easily be detailed by an experienced modeler.

If you are interested in a more detail on the similarities/differences between it and the Fine Molds version and some of the improvements that can be made to the kit you can check my build out here http://www.keeperoftheforce.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1184

This one is a simple build, a couple weird fits to the pieces but generally simple. Had to trim some plastic on the canopy and the wings. It's a good mid size simple model, looks good.
