Great CD, Even Better LIVE! This Band Works HARD, May 30, 2005
This review is from: Revelry (Audio CD)
I went to the Flogging Molly concert last night and BULLETS & OCTANE opened for them. I had never heard of them, but instantly fell in LOVE. The band WORKED their tails off on stage to not only play well, & sound great, but get the crowd up and going! Met them afterwords, and they were totally cool!
Track 4, "Pirates" is absolutely INFECTIOUS! One of those songs that if you don't like the band you hate for it to be stuck in your head, but Since you love them you find you and 6 friends singing it a couple times on the way home from the show!

"Pretty ones, make violence...", September 24, 2004
This review is from: Revelry (Audio CD)
This album is, in your face, kick butt, back to the basics, rock 'n' roll. Bullets and Octane have made it very clear, that time, patience, and working with the right people, anything can happen. After several different line-ups of drummers and guitar players, they now have a steady band, with five members, and you will hear each characteristic of each member, while listening to this album.
Gene's vocals help construct each song with the perfect melody and strength. Jack and Skye's guitars sound alot more powerful on this album; they have a crunchier, punkier type feel to them. Brent's bass lines and Ty's drumbeats help, both produce the structure for each song, with a driven punch, as well as sustaining a hard-hitting, rock `n' roll attitude. - Harmony Gerber, sound-riot dot com

Bullets And Octane-Revelry ***1/2
While far from their strongest album, Revelry is a nice debut from a band that is one of the last true rock n' roll bands left on the earth. With their nice mix of hard rock and classic punk style and groove Bullets And Octane released Revelry, the sound of a band perfecting a dying genre.
'Save Me Sorrow' is nice but was done better on their next album In the Mouth of the Young but none the less a great way to open a debut album. 'Sweet Dreams' is haunting and powerful and no doubt one of the groups best. 'Fallen' presents the great guitar of Daniels which is often over looked. 'Pirates' is no doubt a live favorite with it's "da-da-da-da" chorus and infectious lyrics. 'Bring The House Down' was a sign of things to come from Bullets but also marks the end of the album. The rest of the album while decent is very forgettable and weak.
As a whole Revelry is worth owning if this brand of straight up rock n' roll is your thing, but if not check out their next two albums because they are far better.
