Review

"This one came highly recommended from a friend, and I was not disappointed. A delightful blend of historical mystery and romance...Tonally, this one reminded me a little of Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's Saint-Germain saga--and that's a big compliment."

Janet Elizabeth Jones sweeps the reader into a different time and place seamlessly. The rhythm and majesty of her words elevates this book from the common vampire story and into a classical work of literary art. While this may make the book sound too lofty for a sensual romp, that is far from true. The scene when Ellory teaches Talisen how to play pool, using both his own body as well as his powers to show her the truth of what he is made the fine hair on my neck stood up. It was eerie, yet one of the most sensual scenes in the book. It's also the pivot point around which the rest of the book rests. I adore vampire books, and treasure the many I own. This ranks above them all. Highly recommended.

I have read many paranormal romances. Revenant has raised the bar with intellegence, maturity and amazing sensuality. Ms Jone's writing is viseral. I feel the heat of the lightning or the light touch of this vampire's hand. Each character is so fully written that I can smell them. Her complex plot is full enough to carry the book on it's own, But it is The People in the pages that make me love it -- each time I read it. Nothing will come close except for when Ms Jone publishes a sequel. I can't wait!

An interesting take on the age old vampire story. A vampire with a 'heart' and a 'soul' without fear to fight for the woman he loves.

Talisen is a strong, thoughtful and loving heroine. She is a bit too innocent at first but she eventually grows into the knowledge of what her Captain really is, a vampire of course. The family, the bonding, and the danger weave a nicely done plot that is somewhat predictable but still has a few surprises for those of us that read the paranormal voraciously. There is a slight feel of Another famous Vampire series that pits a female against Vampires but it has enough difference and some plot twists that are in no way similar to that book. Fans of Vamps will enjoy this and revel in some of the other paranormal concepts she brings in to assist the plot development. Enjoy!

At first I wasn't sure about this book. Taslin was a strange woman to understand. She was in Love with a man in a story her grandmother told her abiut all her life. When Ellory entered the story now it made sense. He told her what he was and I thought she got it. He had to mark her to keep her safe but she ran from him after. I thought she loved him. He saved her then she saved him. It was a very good read. I liked it. The reincarnation stories work well.

This book took me by surprise. I didn't realize it was a vampire book, but this is different than other vampire books (I mean it in a good way). I was surprised that there are revenants and how they are created and how they can survive. Ellory didn't realize his link to Talisen, but when you finally find out it makes sense. It was a really good book and I am looking forward to see what happens with Meical.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved the storyline. It was well thought through, keeps you interested till the last page. It was not particularly hard to guess what was to happen given the title, but apart from that it is a beautiful romantic supernatural story and love, loss and destiny.

I enjoed this book from start to finish! This book took a different twist on some vampire ideas. I enjoyed trying to figure out what the big mystery was about the aspect of Dylan and why he had it out for Ellory so bad. Great read all the way through!
