4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and Cheery, December 31, 2007
Ready? Okay!

Janette Rallison's novels for teens are, in a word, fun. They tend to be fueled by comedy, romance, and drama both at school and home. They also have undeniably catchy titles. Who could resist a book called Fame, Glory, and Other Things on My To Do List, or one entitled All's Fair in Love, War, and High School?

All's Fair came out in 2003. The sequel, Revenge of the Cheerleaders, is just as peppy as its predecessor. The book focuses on a high school singing competition that is similar to American Idol, but being held exclusively for teens. Chelsea and her friends want to make sure it's a clean competition, even if Rick, her little sister's rude rocker boyfriend, tries to trip them up.

Despite popular opinion to the contrary, revenge is a dish best served warm and WITHOUT mean spirit. This book is cute and cheery. If you liked Janette Rallison's previous novels, if you can quote the movie Clueless, or if you enjoy lighthearted dramedies, then Revenge of the Cheerleaders will make you grin and giggle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Courtesy of Teens Read Too, October 19, 2007
Chelsea is having kind of a difficult time with her social life, even though she is a popular cheerleader! She was just humiliated by her younger sister's boyfriend, Rick, in front of the entire school, and her boyfriend just dumped her! Not the life that you would expect of a cheerleader, right? That's why I loved this book so much!

Rick thinks that he is going to become a rock star in their school's High School Idol competition by singing a song bashing cheerleaders. But would any girl let a guy get away with that kind of humiliation? I don't think so!

So what is Chelsea going to do about her single status? And her cheerleading-bashing rival in the Idol competition? Read REVENGE OF THE CHEERLEADERS, the sequel to All's Fair in Love, War, and High School, to find out!

What I really liked about this book is how realistic and funny these high school characters are. This author writes like she's still in high school! And I love that the "popular" girl has so many issues -- Chelsea seems like she would fit right in at my school!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, October 17, 2007

It was great to hear about Samantha & Logan. I love sequels; it's like going to a high school reunion. I really enjoyed this book. It dealt with sister rivalry, which brought back memories when my sister claimed I stole her true love... I didn't.
There were predictable moments but it only added to the suspense of how it would all turn out.
So many stories have the underdog's point of view; it is nice to have a cheerleader as the main character. I hope there will be more books with these characters. We have Aubrie & Rachel who need their story told. And for that matter we need to find out how Molly & Polly do.

5.0 out of 5 stars romantic comedy, January 20, 2012
Chelsea may be a cheerleader, but her life's not perfect. Her last boyfriend was cheating on her for weeks before he dumped her. She doesn't get along with her younger sister, whose boyfriend Rick has just humiliated the cheerleading squad in front of the whole school. It's war between Rick and the cheerleaders, but things get complicated when Chelsea falls for Rick's older brother Tanner.
This is another fantastic romantic comedy by Janette Rallison. It'll make you laugh out loud as Chelsea gets into lots of humiliating scrapes, but eventually learns to make peace with Rick and most importantly, with her sister.
