Quantity not Quality....,
By William Chant (Scranton, PA) - See all my reviews

This review is from: The Revenge Encyclopedia (Paperback)
Revenge Encyclopedia, is full of many tips that would cost alot of money to buy in other books. However, other books take the time to explain how not to get caught. What am I saying... This can be a dangerous book if given to the worng person, AKA someone with no common sense. However if it's quantity not quality you're looking for, these pages have about 1000 ticks and pranks. Some are so cruel I wouldn't use them on my worst enemy. I would suggest for those who want to be more careful to buy George Haydukes books as most of the pranks came from him. PS... Printed really cheaply.... book is thick and large. Not easily concealed. Bad choice for production if you want to conceal this book. It's about the size of a relatively think coloring book. The print is off center, top of the word is ahead of the bottom of the word. I don't feel it was worth the price as for quality but quantity was worth every penny. If only they were less cheap and printed it in a more well rounded way...

A Little Dated,
This review is from: The Revenge Encyclopedia (Paperback)
I bought this book years ago, when I was in fact in middle school. And as another reviewer pointed out the information is a bit dated. There are references to using chemicals for revenge that no one has access to any longer as well as other things that are soon to become anachronistic such as "Sticking it to Ma Bell" by sending voltage back through the phone lines. Additionally there are a few things that stick out as not being revenge at all, just tidbits of information that serve to pad the rest of the book, the "rape harpoon" comes to mind. Still, there are some good ideas in this book that range from the mundane to the outrageous and it's a fun read even if you're just out for some laughs.

WASTE OF MONEY,

Most of the tactics are childish and do not allow the person seeking revenge to remain anonymous. This book is a waste of money.

If you're a nice person who has a hard time trying to figure how to respond in kind to mean people this book is just the knife you need to stab your nemesis in the back, gut and eyes. While many of the suggestions will get you thrown in jail if you are caught, they will defiantly screw up the day of the person you are trying to get even with.

There is a lot of overlap between the content of this book and George Hayduke clunker "Don't Get Mad, Get Even." No author's name appears on this book, but it you already have read Hayduke's stuff you can imagine. It's all basically revenge on a middle-school level of sophistication, assuming the writer has been in middle school for the past 18 years. One example: buy a box of bees from a beekeeper and introduce them into your "mark's" house via the mail slot of his front door. (I suppose you'd better pray that no one inside is allergic to bee venom). To make things worse, it's not funny. I realize that what is funny is a matter of taste, so here is mine, for the little it worth: "Reno 911!" and screwball comedies, the "Hot Shots!", "Naked Gun" and the "Airplane!" movies were funny. "All about Eve" was funny. "Are You Being Served?" was funny. Even H.L. Mencken was funny when he wanted to be. Ocsar Wilde was funny, and so was Oscar Levant. "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and the first 5 seasons of "SNL" were funny. At times, "I, Claudius" was funny. This, on the other hand, is not funny. It's bad enough that my time was wasted. Don't waste yours as well.

This may be the mother of revenge books. You would have to buy and read more than 25 books to get the wisdom and wit contained in this volume. You'll like it!
