Review

A blinding good read Ray Winstone Intensely readable Guardian The story will grip you from the first pages Best An extraordinarily powerful piece of family drama Daily Mirror No one writes about East End women and their vagaries like Martina Cole Maxim Jakubowski, Murder One A powerful novel that pulls no punches... Cole has an ear for the vernacular of the East End, as well as an ability to portray the viciousness of life at the edge The Guide Gritty novel from an author who knows intimately the world she writes about Express --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This has got to be the worst of Martina cole's books of all time .(I hope).
I could picture the characters as big goons and almost cartoon like. It was amusing if nothing else.
This book does not even come close to any of her other material. I preordered it. Next time I will wait and sample it first.
Very repetitive in dialogue. I was like "yes I know this, you have told me a million times"! Lol
I do not recommend as a serious novel, but If you want a chuckle and have a good imagination and like comic books, then go for it. I cannot believe Martina cole wrote this piece of rubbish!

I was very disappointed with this book, not up to Martina's usual standard. It dragged and was very repetitive in places and was very easy to put down. Sorry Martina, but I just could not bring this particular 'Face' to life.

I usually love Martina's work but this wasn't great
To be honest it was a lazy effort it had the typical plot for one of her novels a fresh faced handsome face.
Who at the very beginning of the book is a young wannabe and turns out to be the biggest face in Europe.
Of course as with all of ms Coles novels he has a beautiful girl on his arm and a group of contacts that he trusts with his life.
He has a daughter that is wild who miracously comes to realise the error of her ways she's a druggie who doesn't care about her son.
The only redeeming feature of this book is the fact that when the story eventually gets going and it takes about 80 chapters for it to do so the ways in which the kidnapper slash killer is found is actually quite inventive, and his motive is quite good and he's a baddie that you despise.
Don't be so lazy the next time Martina your a good storyteller try something new please

I'm a devoted Martina Cole fan but this book didn't hold my interest like the others. It was a bit too much like the same! Disappointed.

I found this book same old same old with nothing changing in Martina Coles writing style. I much preferred her earlier books when she was a new author and her books were exciting . For me I think Manda Sue Heller and Jackie Rose have taken over offering a more exciting unputdownable read,

It is ok, but her books are getting to be too similar in the story lines. She is a good author but needs to get out of her comfort zone

Too much repetition and the ending was weak. Could have been a gripping theme but the continual murders became too matter of fact, if that's possible.
