I'm just putting this up because nothing at all was mentioned about this release when it came out, and that hasn't changed in the time that has passed. I'm not going to go indepth on this, suffice it to say that if you liked the first album, you will like this. There isn't a standout like "it's all real" but as a complete album, this is an overall step up.
Any mentions I had heard about this were attempts to find out if DJ Premier was back on board. Well, DJ Premier provides beats for 3 tracks, one of which features Styles P. Also, Marley Marl produced 2 tracks, including a new version of the Symphony. To top it off, Pete Rock, Alchemist and Cool and Dre all provide one track each. With an allstar lineup like that behind the boards, you think that would be mentioned in promoting the album.
As far as the MC's, there were some tracks on the first album where they didn't really distinguish themselves from one another and that is still a bit of a problem but not as much. It seems as if more time was spent on the lyrics, but without straying too far from New York street level subject matter. Don't go in looking for something new, but if you know what you're getting, you won't be disapointed
