Cheesy, campy, what more could you ask for?, February 1, 2002

This review is from: Revenge of the Stepford Wives [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I happen to like "bad" movies...this is a really good bad video. Julie Kavner (aka Marge Simpson), Sharon Gless, and, of course, Don Johnson star in this sequel to the creepy Stepford Wives film. The movie appears to have been made in the late seventies to very early 80's, though the release date is '86. Call in sick to work, lay in bed and watch this really bad movie over and over again.

BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL, January 31, 2002
This review is from: Revenge of the Stepford Wives [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Normally, made for TV movie sequels fail to live up to the original. However, The Revenge of the Stepford Wives is a thoroughly enjoyable film in its own right. Whereas the original was slow-moving yet layered with social commentary, Revenge of the Stepford Wives moves fast and doesn't try to make a statement. Sharon Gless is tremendous as are Julie Kavner and Don Johnson. A top notch cast, well executed story and fast pace make this film a good time. In my case, I liked it better than the original -- a rare thing indeed.

BETTER THAN THE FIRST, September 29, 2004
This review is from: Revenge of the Stepford Wives [VHS] (VHS Tape)
There are only a few sequels that I feel are better than the first. "The Revenge of the Stepford Wives" is one. The first film needed to set the premise and introduce characters. It was a bit slow moving. But I did enjoy it to say the least. With "Revenge of..." you already know the premise and the film expands on it. The acting was great -Sharon Gless, Julie Kavner, Don Johnson and my favorite, Audra Lindley. The only dissappointment is that it has not been released on DVD (yet)!
