The past will return,
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Revenge Tango (Paperback)
Former detective Nicholas Esperanza is back in Jerry A. Rodriguez's REVENGE TANGO. The evil Devona has returned and she wants something and she will stop at nothing to get it. Esperanza was sure he saw her across the street from him one day, but no one believes him, so basically, he's hunting her on his own. He knows wherever she shows up, trouble begins. Eventually he is able to bring some of his friends into the situation with him, especially when Legs, his girlfriend is kidnapped.
Devona is not only good at subterfuge and murder - she's also a dominatrix and is heavily into the swinger's scene. Esperanza knows this, and is in fact, haunted by how she treated him in the past. He is more than worried about how Legs will fare with this mad woman. His chase takes him deep into the underworld of New York and as the tension builds, everyone, it seems, is out to kill. Jerry A. Rodriguez has written another thriller that keeps your interest from the very first page. It is filled with hot love scenes, scary fights and a lot of sociopaths. It is a book well worth reading. Excellent Follow Up!,

This review is from: Revenge Tango (Kindle Edition)
Revenge Tango, the follow-up to Rodriguez's first novel, The Devils Mambo, is a very exciting read. Although there were a couple of scenes that were on the extreme kinky and S&M side, this novel is not nearly as dark as his previous novel but I felt the scenes were necessary to keep with feel of the first novel. All the thrill, suspense and action of the first novel are present in this one as well. I was not disappointed at all with this story. It flowed so smoothly from one scene to the other. I liked the comaraderie between Esparanza and Havelock and Esperanza and Santos which, to me, says alot about Esparanza's overall character. And the love he and Legs share, despite of a few imperfections, is really refreshing. You find yourself hoping they can make it through all their problems. This second novel was great. I actually enjoyed this better than the first novel. I wonder what's next for this writer. I look forward to reading more from him.

GREAT FOLLOW-UP,

This review is from: Revenge Tango (Paperback)
I had read Jerry Rodriguez's first book, The Devil's Mambo, and was pleasantly surprised. He managed to combine noir, suspense, erotica and Latin culture, all in one book. What I loved about Revenge Tango was Rodriguez's ability to continue, and develop, his characters and his writing. I found this book was a GREAT FOLLOW-UP!
