As a child my Mother had this one pot that was always in use, it stayed so shiny, nothing ever burned in it. As I grew and learned to cook, I had this pot in constant use, in fact I would fight my siblings for the use of this 'cooker's dream utensil'. Mom only had one, no other pot in her kitchen could make a receipe taste as well as this. Not unitl many years later was I to learn, this was a free promotional gift, that has been more than 40 years ago. That pot today, looks as if it was just removed from the box. I have since purchased the complete set of Revereware for my Mother, and not without motive, me(I live & care for my Mother). Since I love desserts, I use it constantly the double boiler is the greatest! It makes my sweets, oooohhhhh,so even sweeter. I can't help looking for things to cook-up just so I can use it. I am so impressed with this product, I have purchased two more for holiday gifts. This is a cooker's must!

This was a good buy. The price was right and it works very well for the purpose it was bought for. I would recommend it to others looking for a double boiler. Just make sure it is big enough for what you need it for.

When I saw the picture of the Revere 2-Quart Covered Saucepan with Double Boiler Insert I knew that is what I had been looking for. The price was right and it matched my other Revere pots.
It is well built, sturdy and should last for years. After placing my order it was in my home and in use in 4 days. I am a very satisfied customer. Thanks Amazon.

I was so excited to receive this set today...let's just say it's going back tomorrow! I am not happy with it. The sautering on the handle to the double boiler pot is terrible. It is actually sautered clean through to the inside of the pot making a hole there. The joint is so flimsy that when I held the handle and wiggled it a bit, the pot moved almost independent of the handle! I can see having the thing filled with hot liquid and moving it by the handle only to have it fall apart and fling everywhere! I have a few older pots, when they were still made in the USA, and they are of much better quality than this set! I hit ebay and will be bidding on some of the older ones. Newer definitely doesn't mean better! Sorry Amazon...I can't recommend this one at all!

We were looking for a Revere double boiler and saucepan to replace my mother's originals. This pan serves both purposes. We signed up for regular shipping and the package arrived much earlier than they predicted - in time to wrap it for her birthday. She was very happy with the gift and we were very happy with the service.

I had bought a Revere 2-Quart Covered Saucepan and Double Boiler almost 24 years ago. The product worked great as a saucepan with a heavy bottom and as a double boiler. A small spot of the stainless steel coating had worn away after so many years of use and scrubbing with a stainless steel cleanser. I ordered this replacement for the pan, but the "new" pan is much lighter and the stainless steel coating has a rougher surface. The pan is a low quality, "flimsy" replacement for what once was a useful and reliable product. I am very disappointed with this pan and would not recommend it to anyone! Revere Ware is very high quality and is the best value in cookware that I know of. It's affordable yet it works great and lasts for years. This steamer set works well and allows you to steam vegetables so they don't lose their vitamins and healthiness. The steamer section rests securely and the cover fits both pieces. This set has many other uses and since the steamer and saucepan separate you can use the saucepan alone for hundreds of standard recipes. One more thing, Revere Ware doesn't use dangerous anti-stick surfaces, so it promotes safe cooking and eating.

Sorry, I realized that I bought the steamer section separately. This set comes with the double boiler, so when you buy this do a search for the steamer attachment which Amazon also sells and buy that too.

It was just what I wanted. I have one, but it is too deep, this is ideal.
