Product Description

Product Description

Revere Polished Aluminum 12-Inch Non-Stick Skillet

REVERE cookware have been part of American history since patriot and silversmith Paul Revere started making copper sheathing for naval vessels in 1801. Paul founded Revere Copper Company which evolved into Copper and Brass, Inc., the makers of Revere Ware Copper Clad Stainless Steel Cookware. Today, REVERE cookware is one of the most recognized and preferred brands of metal rangetop cookware, known by consumers for its legendary heritage, quality and durability. With a strong commitment to consumer research and technological advancement, the REVERE cookware team constantly introduces new, innovative products adapted to changing consumer needs.

This easy-care Revere cookware collection is engineered of polished aluminum, for fast, even heating and cooking, and high quality non-stick interiors for healthy cooking and effortless cleanups.

  • Aluminum exterior for quick & even heating
  • High quality non-stick interior cleans easily & allows food to be cooked with little or no added fat.
  • Ergonomic 'pistol' grip handle is made of black phenolic and is oven safe up to 350 degrees F.
  • 5 Year Limited Warranty

USE AND CARE

  • BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME: Wash cookware thoroughly with hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry. "Condition" the non-stick interior with cooking oil. Remove excess oil with dry paper towel.
  • Use heat resistant plastic, nylon or wooden cooking utensils on non-stick finish.
  • To prevent scratching avoid using sharp-edged or metal utensils.
  • Minor scratching will affect only the appearance of the coating; it will not harm its non-stick performance or food cooking in the pan.
  • Oven use: Revere non-stick cookware can be used in a preheated oven. Phenolic handles and cover knobs can be used in oven up to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C. DO NOT put in oven when self-cleaning cycle is operating. DO NOT USE UNDER A BROILER.
  • To prevent warping, let cookware cool before coming into contact with water.
  • To remove burned-on food, soak before cleaning and scrub with plastic scouring pad if necessary.
  • Thoroughly wash pan after each use. Use hot soapy water to avoid staining caused by food or grease buildup. Although non-stick cookware may be washed in a dishwasher, hand washing is recommended.

This 12-inch skillet fast becomes a stovetop favorite as it is versatile enough to use for a variety of preparations and large enough to cook portions for the whole family in one pan. The high, 2-1/4-inch sides on this pan contain more of the splatter, making it an excellent choice for messy undertakings, such as frying homemade chicken nuggets or cooking a round of burgers. As part of Revere’s Polished Aluminum Nonstick line of cookware, this skillet has a high-quality nonstick coating on its interior so chefs should not need to use as much fat when cooking or exert much effort when cleaning it up. The exterior is constructed of polished aluminum, which is quick to heat and transfers heat evenly for superb browning. The phenolic handle stays cool on the stovetop and is oven-safe up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. A ring in the end of the handle makes it easy to hang this skillet on a potrack for easy access. This cookware works well on both gas and electric ranges and is covered under a five-year limited replacement warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

I had a 12-inch T-Fal skillet that was wearing out (was no longer sitting even on the stove, and the teflon was flaking) so decided to purchase a 12-inch Revere Ware skillet. I used Revere Ware skillets a number of years ago and found them to be of high quality. Not any more. When I received the 12-inch skillet I found that instead of perfectly round, it protruded towards the back where the handle attaches. Thus, any lids for 12-inch skillets would not fit. This is a quality control problem, as it was definitely not designed in, based on the unevenness of the protrusion. It was so obvious that I'm wondering if there is quality control done on these. Also the handle did not fit tight but jiggled a bit. On the plus side it is lightweight and it appears to have a good coating of teflon. One surprise is my old Revere Ware skillets were made in the USA. As one might have guessed, these were made in China. Somehow I figured that a skillet having Paul Revere's image on the bottom, along with the year "1801" might still be made in the USA.

I ordered this skillet even with the mixed reviews because I loved the previous one I have had for more than 10 years. This one is definitely not going to last that long. After one dinner use, the handle is already loose. It feels very flimsy compared to my old one. I will use it until it falls apart but I won't be replacing it with another one. This was such a disappointment. I just hope the teflon coating is not going to come apart as quickly as the handle. The teflon coating was the problem with my old one & I had to replace it. I am not getting any more w/teflon coatings & am sticking with the ss versions.

I received this as a Christmas gift along with the 12" lid. It was my first really decent skillet, so I didn't know what to expect, but it has really fared well in my kitchen. I make 1 dish meals for two, chicken parmesean, pancakes, anything really and clean up couldn't be easier. My one complaint is that it doesn't always cook evenly, so I'm constantly rotating. You don't need high temps to get quick results. As for the lid, the handle broke off shortly after getting it, so unfortunately, I need to buy a new one (which seems a little overpriced if you ask me!) But the price for this pan is worth what you get, a more-than-decent skillet for those "just starting off".

I got this pan hearing that RevereWare was a good brand. When I brought it back home to try out, the pan had warped within just a few weeks of using it. After doing a little more research, it seems that RevereWare products USED to be high quality but not really anymore.

I would not recommend this pan to anyone looking to get one.

Revereware used to be really good, now it's made in China and the quality is terrible. This pan was so out of round that my lid would not fit on it. And the aluminum was so thin and cheap. Just a lousy pan all the way around. I promptly sent it back. I got great pan at TJ Max for $25. Amazon shouldn't even sell crappy merchandise like this.

This pan is not even close to the quality of the original Revere skillet. It's about half the weight, for starters. The handle is much shorter also, and for no good reason other than to save money, I'm guessing. To add insult to injury, the one that I received is not even a true circle and hence the glass lid that I kept from my original skillet won't stay put. I can only hope that cooking with it is a success because that will be its sole redeeming feature.

Update: I've used it twice and found that one area has a real hot spot. The two dishes that I prepared (a bag dinner from Bertolli and pancakes) burned in that one area within half a minute. I have prepared both of these in my old Revere skillet with no problems.

I am going to return this to Amazon with the recommendation that they remove it from their inventory. I will then go to my local supermarket where I bought my original Revere skillet in the hope that they still have some of the "real" ones. This one is a impostor, for sure.

When I received the package with the 12" skillet in it, there was no indication from either the external packaging or the box that actually contained the skillet that any damage had been done to either during shipping. However, the pan was out of round. One side of the pan was pushed in towards the middle of the pan. There was no indication that the pan was damaged in that the telflon surface was intact and the pan inself was not dented. Therefore, I assume that the pan was not manufactured properly in the first place and there was apparently no quality control inspection of the skillet to ensure that it had been manufactured to proper specifications. Since the pan could not be used with the 12" skillet lid that I already had, I had threw it away. This is the first time I have purchased an item from Amazon.com that was faulty to the extent that it was not usable.

The other inhabitants of my household sometimes need to get a clue about how to treat teflon. As a result, I don't like to spend lots of money on something I know will get ruined. I feel this pan was a good compromise on price and quality. It's held up relatively well. I've had it for a few years now. On the plus side, it cooks things very well. The pan is thick enough that it distributes heat evenly, so I don't get burned spots or warping. On the minus side, as with any teflon pan, the coating resents abuse. The pan survived its trip through the dishwasher relatively intact, although the external aluminum surface was dulled. The coating eventually developed scratches after someone decided to start piling silverware into it during kitchen cleanups. The pan survived this treatment longer than most would have, but eventually it succumbed.
