Book Description

February 1, 2010
In Lutishia Lovely's wickedly sexy new novel, an energetic young pastor works overtime to keep the ladies in his congregation deliciously satisfied. . .

Nathaniel "Nate" Thicke is a preaching prodigy. At only twenty-eight years old, he's the senior pastor of The Gospel Truth Church. In addition to carrying on the preaching tradition begun by his great-grandfather, Nate is also just plain carrying on, wherever the spirit--and the flesh--lead him. And when it leads him to three women from the same family, bickering and backstabbing follow...

Content with having his pick of the flock, Nate is surprised to discover he's fallen head-over-heels in love, and decides to become a one-woman man. But the other ladies aren't about to give him up so easily. They're prepared to do whatever it takes to get their man back--even if it means adding a few more shocking sins to their list...

Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

Lovely (A Preacher's Passion) continues to unravel the crazy, sordid activities of megachurches with a wicked flair. The promiscuous Rev. Nate Thicke, senior pastor of the Gospel Truth Church of Palestine, Tex., tends to his adoring female flock following the dubious example of his minister grandfather and father who saw nothing wrong in spiritual covering. When Nate suddenly decides to marry 16-year-old Destiny Noble, her mother, Simone, is appalled. The minister's been bedding her and her mother, Katherine, Nate's administrative assistant. Simone was the one hoping to marry him, but Katherine believes Nate has the holy right to whatever he desires and whisks Destiny to an elaborate Florida Keys tryst. Destiny gets pregnant and to avoid scandal is taken away to have the baby and to finish school. Nate marries Destiny with the intention of becoming a one-woman man until wild child Melody Anderson not only beds him but tapes the encounter, leading to Nate's ultimate exposure. Lovely once again expertly illuminates the wacky world of the devout and devoutly devilish. (Feb.)

More About the Author

Lutishia Lovely is an award-winning author of sixteen novels, six of which are romance titles written under her alter-ego pseudo, Zuri Day. In addition to her wildly popular Hallelujah Love Series, Ms. Lovely has a hot new trilogy called "The Business" about a soul food dynasty where delicious drama and sizzling scandal is always on the menu!

Prior to becoming a full-time author, Lutishia enjoyed many different careers. They all, however, had one thing in common - they all were linked into a "world of words". From administrative assistant to radio personality to actor to managing editor and senior writer for a holistic magazine, words have always been the magic that made Lutishia's world go 'round. Probably one of the spins that would most surprise readers is the fact that Lutishia was a rapper! That's right, for a short stint in the 90s, Lutishia was billed as "The Rhaptress" (a combination of a rapper and an actress), and toured with other singers and musicians throughout southern CA. She's happy now to beat out a rhythm on her keyboard...songs in the key of "writer" that she hopes will inspire and entertain!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Thy Neighbor, March 4, 2010

This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
Lutishia Lovely has written an interesting account of a pulpit pimp with an interesting twist to why he is sexing the women of his congregation. Rev. Nate Thicke, senior pastor of the Gospel Truth Church of Palestine, Texas has to honor his family tradition of covering women of his church. A young man, only 28-years-old, his star is quickly on the rise in the Christian community as well as across the country. Rev. Thicke is trying to honor tradition in his family by feasting his sexual appetite on three family members, as well as other willing sisters in church. As he spends his time making women feel good, he notices Destiny, a young sister in the church that made his heart sing to a different tune than what he was accustomed to feeling. Although she is the granddaughter of Katherine Noble, a woman he has been covering for years, he sees no problem with covering her. Trouble is, good ole' Reverend Thicke is about to find out that following traditions can cause another set of problems that will set the church on fire.

The book REVEREND FEELGOOD had me wanting to grab my own Bible to research what covering meant and how pastors should use it to help members grow spiritually. But what I found while reading Lovely's book was a bunch of low self-esteem women who were willing to do anything including sharing the bed of their pastor just to feel good or important.

Usually, I find it difficult to read a Christian book with such strong language and sexual terminology but in this case, the author was able to hold my interest. If an author can write a book in the Christian genre that makes you dust off your Bible while staying up late to research verses, then her words and story line has done its job. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for readers who want to read a book that will grab and hold their attention long enough to make them understand that when a pastor covers you, it should not be under the covers of a bed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Ashamed, and Disappointed, July 12, 2010
This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
I Can't believe this book is getting such rave reviews. I thought it was taste-less and unrealistic. I've always been a fan os Ms. Lovely's work and loved her sense of reality in the church BUT! this book I thought would shed some light on the ever growing epidemic of No good, Pedophile pastors and Ministers and how they need to be prosecuted! I was ASHAMED that the author made Child molestation something of the norm with no consequences and I was Dissapointed that she allowed the characters to have an Happily ever-after! No way! get real! How could she write something that allowed a Family who practiced Molestation of Minor girls & Womanizing of pothetic church women Come out Looking Like, Oh this must be fate I finaly reversed the the curse and Married a NOBLE. THIS BOOK WAS A HOT MESS!!!! MS> LOVELY YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reverend Feelgood, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
I just finished reading Reverend Feelgood. It was an excellent read. I could hardly put the book down! Ms. Lovely deals with real things that actually happens in the church. unfortnately Rev. Thicke is misinformed that as the Pastor it is his duty to sexualy cover his female members. You have some who actually think they will be cursed if they do not submit to their pastor's sexually request. It is sad that so many women are dealing with low self-esteem, that they'll allow themselves to be duped into anything. Then again some go into the situation with her eyes wide open. I guess any type of attention will do. Ms. Lovely has down another exceptional job. Keep up the good work.
