5.0 out of 5 stars Loving Thy Neighbor
Lutishia Lovely has written an interesting account of a pulpit pimp with an interesting twist to why he is sexing the women of his congregation. Rev. Nate Thicke, senior pastor of the Gospel Truth Church of Palestine, Texas has to honor his family tradition of covering women of his church. A young man, only 28-years-old, his star is quickly on the rise in the Christian...

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Ashamed, and Disappointed
I Can't believe this book is getting such rave reviews. I thought it was taste-less and unrealistic. I've always been a fan os Ms. Lovely's work and loved her sense of reality in the church BUT! this book I thought would shed some light on the ever growing epidemic of No good, Pedophile pastors and Ministers and how they need to be prosecuted! I was ASHAMED that the...

This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
Lutishia Lovely has written an interesting account of a pulpit pimp with an interesting twist to why he is sexing the women of his congregation. Rev. Nate Thicke, senior pastor of the Gospel Truth Church of Palestine, Texas has to honor his family tradition of covering women of his church. A young man, only 28-years-old, his star is quickly on the rise in the Christian community as well as across the country. Rev. Thicke is trying to honor tradition in his family by feasting his sexual appetite on three family members, as well as other willing sisters in church. As he spends his time making women feel good, he notices Destiny, a young sister in the church that made his heart sing to a different tune than what he was accustomed to feeling. Although she is the granddaughter of Katherine Noble, a woman he has been covering for years, he sees no problem with covering her. Trouble is, good ole' Reverend Thicke is about to find out that following traditions can cause another set of problems that will set the church on fire.

The book REVEREND FEELGOOD had me wanting to grab my own Bible to research what covering meant and how pastors should use it to help members grow spiritually. But what I found while reading Lovely's book was a bunch of low self-esteem women who were willing to do anything including sharing the bed of their pastor just to feel good or important.

Usually, I find it difficult to read a Christian book with such strong language and sexual terminology but in this case, the author was able to hold my interest. If an author can write a book in the Christian genre that makes you dust off your Bible while staying up late to research verses, then her words and story line has done its job. I enjoyed this book and recommend it for readers who want to read a book that will grab and hold their attention long enough to make them understand that when a pastor covers you, it should not be under the covers of a bed.

I've always been a fan os Ms. Lovely's work and loved her sense of reality in the church BUT! this book I thought would shed some light on the ever growing epidemic of No good, Pedophile pastors and Ministers and how they need to be prosecuted! I was ASHAMED that the author made Child molestation something of the norm with no consequences and I was Dissapointed that she allowed the characters to have an Happily ever-after! No way! get real! How could she write something that allowed a Family who practiced Molestation of Minor girls & Womanizing of pothetic church women Come out Looking Like, Oh this must be fate I finaly reversed the the curse and Married a NOBLE. THIS BOOK WAS A HOT MESS!!!! MS> LOVELY YOU CAN DO BETTER!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reverend Feelgood, February 1, 2010
This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
I just finished reading Reverend Feelgood. It was an excellent read. I could hardly put the book down! Ms. Lovely deals with real things that actually happens in the church. unfortnately Rev. Thicke is misinformed that as the Pastor it is his duty to sexualy cover his female members. You have some who actually think they will be cursed if they do not submit to their pastor's sexually request. It is sad that so many women are dealing with low self-esteem, that they'll allow themselves to be duped into anything. Then again some go into the situation with her eyes wide open. I guess any type of attention will do. Ms. Lovely has down another exceptional job. Keep up the good work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disgusted. Could not finish it., September 25, 2011
This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)

I don't know what alternative universe the Noble Family came from in this book. Especially the ones living in the current decade.
Also a Black women does not have to be high yellow to be a prize. All the Noble women looked the same for decades. Who were they marrying, their brothers?
I really hated this book. It actually made me angry the the Lord's name was used in it!

4.0 out of 5 stars SPOILERS DONT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW, September 26, 2010
This review is from: Reverend Feelgood (Paperback)
My spoilers arent that bad i dont think i just wanted to prepare people because i want to right an open review. while I had no problems with the book itself some of the situations were just beyond belief even for fiction. 1st, how 5 generations...GENERATIONS be ok with sleeping with the pastor because it was his duty to "cover them" and every other vagina in church i just cant believe the 1st 4 generations were that stupid in this aspect. If so, that family has a whole lot of dumb genes and lack of common sense. Even though the author tried to clean this up at the end with the whole love story aspect i just wasnt buying it..furthermore if we are to believe the love story then honestly what was the point of Destiny even being there? was it simply so the pastor could not only continue the tradition of covering but child molestation also? I could see this book, totally to include Simone in Destiny's place especially since she and Nate were closer in age and destiny pointless. Also the minor characters of others Nate was "covering" namely Anne and Verneice...how do they all of a sudden end up as they were (trying not to say too much) and what was patricias purpose in the book and Jennifer Stevens I just dont get it. While did enjoy this book and series as a whole..its was too many things in this book that just made me say "come on now" but overall good for the series as i have already read Heaven Forbid so it kind of sets up for that one.

AMAZING!!! Ms. Lovely has done it again. I received this book the day it released and the next day I was upset because I had nothing else to read. I found myself laughing outloud, screaming at the characters and ultimately "feeling good" about my purchase. This is a series that must continue. I can't wait for "Heaven Forbid"...what must I do in the mean time??? Enjoy my friends...enjoy!
