Book Description

May 1, 2012 A Reverend Curtis Black Novel
From New York Times bestselling author Kimberla Lawson Roby comes the ninth installment in her award-winning Reverend Curtis Black series. It's been months since Reverend Curtis learned that his wife Charlotte had affairs with two different men, and for now, he continues to be cordial and respectful to her. But he's also made it clear that once their son Matthew graduates high school, he will be filing for divorce. Charlotte, on the other hand, continues to do everything possible to make amends in hopes of saving their marriage. Unfortunately, Curtis is ready to move on and is being propositioned by a woman who desperately wants to become the next Mrs. Curtis Black. When the situation heads down a path that is frighteningly shocking, could it be the final blow to this once blessed union?

3.0 out of 5 stars Just okay May 5, 2012

While I have enjoyed previous series of Rev Black I found this one dragged a bit. I actually had to make myself finish it. It just seemed like I heard it all before. I actually miss some of the drama from previous books. I think this story is complete and it is time to move on to more exciting characters. I do enjoy the author's writing and look forward to her next series.

We are back for the 9th installment in the Rev. Curtis Black series and let me tell you if you know anything about the Black family you know that you are in for the ride of your lives!

Curtis is determined to divorce Charlotte after her double infidelity last year, but Charlotte has other plans. She is not going to give up on her family without a fight, and boy is she in for a fight! No matter what she does, nothing seems to be good enough. Curtis is treating her like a stranger in their home, Matthew is still hurt and barely speaks to her and Curtina is 4 so she loves Charlotte and right now that is what is keeping her afloat but she needs more. Curtis is hurt and tired of the back and forth between him and Charlotte and has began talking with a female member of the church. She is nice, listens to him and doesn't judge him but what Curtis doesn't know is that just most women, she is trying to figure out how to be the next Mrs. Curtis Black. Will there ever NOT be problems for the Black family?!?!? You will just have to read and find out!

I love Kimberla writing style and the way she keeps us coming back for more. Her storylines are strong and if you know anything about the way Roby writes you know if something small happens in this book, it will be HUGE in the next one! Looking forward to the next installment! Keep up the great work, you never disappoint me!
