Two Guys Who Sound Like an Orchestra,
By A Customer
This review is from: Reverie (Audio CD)
I have had the pleasure of seeing these two perform live, and their unassuming candor and wit belies their incredible depth of talent. Every piece on this CD is played brilliantly. There are moments when it is impossible to believe I am only hearing an accoustic guitar and piano playing in duet, and had I not seen it in person I would not have believed it. The sound is rich and lush and Patrick and Chris perfectly compliment each other in balance and tone. A few tracks do include the synthesizer to produce the sound of strings and rain, but never does the synthesizer come to the fore to overtake the simplicity of the guitar and piano. One of my favorite pieces of music in the world is the Pacabel Canon--I have a collection of different arrangments of this piece--and this has become my favorite. I highly recommend this CD to anyone and everyone who is looking for outstanding instrumental music.
