Computer Opponent Only Plays Randomly,

This review is from: Reversal Challenge (Video Game)
Note: This game does NOT include the original Reversi game.
Gameplay Basics: The main game is played on an 8 by 8 board with the two bottom rows randomly filled at the start of each new game. Your goal is to have as many as possible of your color pieces on the board after the board fills up. Your next piece will fall from above and you have to slide it over to the column you want your piece to land in. Any of your opponents pieces in between your newly-placed piece and your previously-placed pieces turns into your piece. There are four weapons to use that you can upgrade in strength and quantity as you move to higher levels: Fireball: Destroys the piece that it initially hits and some of the ones adjacent to it. Hand: Allows you to shift left or right a whole row one to three steps. Lightning: Destroys up to a whole column at once. Snowballs: Sends down pieces at one time in three to eight columns. During gameplay at random intervals, occasionally(happened to me around ten times over the course of playing all 50 levels) the whole board may be flipped, mixed up or have the colors reversed. Also your computer opponent has a unique piece that you don't have, that it can play which requires two 'flips' before turning to your color. There is also a puzzle mode which consists of 50 levels where the board is completely filled and you have to select the right ones in a limited number of moves to change all the pieces on the board to the same of either color. Pros: * Use of the weapons and the design of the gameplay actually creates a well-structured and fun strategy game. * Saves your weapon stats and the level you are on so you start at the highest level you previously reached each time you play. * The few puzzles that were challenging, I did enjoy figuring out. Cons: * Less than 10 of 50 puzzles require any significant thought to solve. * The 50 main game levels increase in difficulty NOT by the computer opponent calculating optimal play, but rather by increasing the percentage of pieces you have to win by(The computer opponent always makes random moves regardless of what level you are on). * You can play against other humans but only if they bought the same game and are in the same location as you i.e. no online play or rankings. * There is a glitch that can happen when sliding a piece that causes it to continue falling outside of the playfield; it usually can be brought back by tapping the intended column, but occasionally it would fall off the screen rendering the game uncontinueable. Comments: This would have been an excellent game if only there were more challenging puzzles and if the computer opponent was programmed to use some strategy. Unfortunately even on the hardest level it would miss counterplay that would have been obvious to a human opponent.

I waited for this game for weeks. But like the other reviewer, I can't seem to figure it out, and I don't think I'm that stupid. It seems the game is able to make moves that I am not allowed to do. I'm sorry I wasted my money.

I thought this was a REVERSI type game but it is not even like that!! I will
keep playing to see if I can even figure it out.
