3.0 out of 5 stars More Guidance needed
I was expecting more info such as how much is best to eat for meals and snacks as well as sample menus such as how many protien, carbs, veggies per meals and snacks (or calories per meal). I needed a little more guidance in that aspect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Life-Changing, December 28, 2009
I bought this book and tried it and lost over 40 pounds in three months. I continued to lose weight after that, but soon learned that after 12 years of trying to have a baby that I was pregnant. I had been through countless fertility treatments and none worked. I have a beautiful son who we adopted also. I really think that by ridding my body of processed foods and basically junk, my body recognized this and was able to have a baby. This really is a healthy way to eat and change your lifestyle. I even think that I seemed happier while eating this way! I just went shopping yesterday and I am back on the reverse diet and hoping to lose the baby weight! I know that with the Reverse Diet that I can do it. I also went and bought a stationary bike for the house also. I highly reccomend this book to anyone who would like to change his or her life for the better!

You basically eat a big breakfast, decent lunch, and a tiny dinner. I really didn't have to spend $25 to do this. The sunshine tea thing, is hot lemon water. I expected more out of this book, based on all the hype.

This book is very motivational and gives you an alternative method to lose weight. You follow the author through her struggle to lose weight and gain her knowledge and insight that worked for her. However, this diet is very hard to maintain. As a working mom with young children and a husband, eating "dinner" in the morning is not a sustainable solution for our family. We like to have dinner as a family, unfortunately, my young kids can not eat their largest meal of the day in the morning and be expected to last through the evening on a smaller meal. If you are single or have older children this diet could work for you. The few weeks I was on it I lost weight, but it is not suitable to my lifestyle or family.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is not just a diet, it is a Plan to eat Healthy for Life. No More Craves., December 31, 2006
This review is from: The Reverse Diet: Lose 20, 50, 100 Pounds or More by Eating Dinner for Breakfast and Breakfast for Dinner (Hardcover)
The Reverse diet is unlike anything I have EVER found before in my life. This book is Great. It tells You in Black and White just what to do. It is not the same Plan for everyone, You can make Your own eating plan according to the guidlines. Not one Diet Plan has Ever helped me like this one. I don't feel like I am on a diet. I don't even crave those unhealthy foods because there is such a variety of foods, if cooked the right way that are so good. You miss nothing and it does work. If You want to loose weight, this is the only way I could ever do it and you keep it off too. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to loose 10 pounds to 100. It Works, It really does. I know I have found my lifestyle of eating. I hope Others do also. Please buy the book and You will be Amazed.
Thank You for writting this book for people like me who have been struggling for years to loose weight. Great Book, Great Plan.
Thanks,
Vanna

5.0 out of 5 stars Making it real, December 28, 2006
This review is from: The Reverse Diet: Lose 20, 50, 100 Pounds or More by Eating Dinner for Breakfast and Breakfast for Dinner (Hardcover)
It's one thing to hear about a lifestyle diet, read what others do in a support group, try it, but not be sure about some questions...THEN when the book comes out, it suddenly becomes a real lifestyle that we all can do. I am a visual person and need to see things and read them over and over...then it all finally sinks in and things are not so overwhelming. So, for me the book was just what I needed to put this all together. What a wonderful help, and so simple to follow. No matter what our size, it works!!

2.0 out of 5 stars So,So. I reccomend a different book, December 22, 2010

PROS: very positive. easy recipes. stay fuller longer. after about a week of eating reverse I forgot about food after 5pm. it got me in the routine of cooking at home instead of going out. The RD Breakfast bake is really really good!

CONS: must plan ahead and wake up early. I was bummed becase it says to use more WHOLE FOODS but it's basically another low fat/high protein, low carbs diet that calls for sugar substitutes like aspartame that are known to eat holes in the brain and butter substitute aka margarine which is one molicule difference of plastic. Substitues for sugar and butter are not 'whole foods'. most of the recipes i got for free on the philedelphia news website so there really wasn't a need to buy it. the website i bought it from said it had hundreds of recipes which wasn't true. But since I bought it for $2 on a used book website I wasn't that upset..

I really recommend reading or checking out the audio version of the book IN DEFENSE OF FOOD An Eaters Manifesto by MICHAEL POLLAN. it explains whole food, real food and why not to eat sugar and butter substitutes, etc.

Tricia has a tremendous story. It's worth checking out her video on discovery health video.

I have read all the bad reviews from people who haven't even read the book. Since when I get into something I research it to no end. They complain and say she lied about how much or how fast. I've seen her interviewed on everything from discovery to the 700 club.
Tricia lost 172 lbs in 9 months (20 lbs/mo over twice as much as is healthy). So when she says she lost over 150 lbs take a minute and realize 172 is over 150! And if I remember right in an interview she says she got done to 112 but then gained some weight because it was too small for her frame.

I say if she did it without pills or drugs good for her. If not well, shame on her. Everyone deserves to be healthy and getting money out of loosing weight is big money here in the US. So good for her for sharing her story and helping people.

I love this program. I have used it after both of my pregnancies and have had great results. I have lost 5 lbs the first week, and I even cheated a little bit. My only compaint is eating the same food for so long. But even if you can only do it for a while it's a great jump start to help you lose weight and get motivated.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read with good details., August 2, 2008
By
This book has lots of details in how to follow this type of eating pattern. Recipes and menus are provided as examples. The one thing I would have liked to see dealt with a little more in detail is the science behind the diet. In other words, why and how does it work. Other than that, it's a complete product.
