Just What The Doctor Ordered!!!,

I'm not much of a cook. Routinely, I'd just grab and go in order to keep up with my fast paced lifestyle. But since the doctor diagnosed me with Type 2, I realized that I had to make some changes. Part of my new lease on life included eating healthier. Reversing Diabetes Cookbook: More Than 200 Delicious, Healthy Recipes is heaven sent. The recipes are easy to follow and the meals I've made so far are OUTSTANDING. In fact, what prompted me to write this review is the grilled terriyaki salmon I just prepared. Magnificent. I just had to share my findings with others.
I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to transition to a healthier way of life. Consequently, I've lost 15lbs.

Easy, delicious recipes, even if you don't have diabetes,

Regardless of whether you have diabetes or not, this is an excellent cookbook with healthy, easy and fairly quick recipes. In most other cookbooks, you mark the recipes that you like - in this book, they are ALL good! I haven't found one that we wouldn't want to make again, and we cook a lot out of books like Cooking Light and Jacques Pepin. This is our new favorite. I bought 10 more books to give to family and friends as inexpensive gifts.

Have not made all the recipes but looks easy enough until I read the recommended key ingredient was a sugar substitute that I had to order on line, (xylitol). Brown rice syrup is also hard to find that was in a lot of ingredients.

I purchased this book because I felt that my diabetes was starting to control me instead of me controlling it. The recipes are easy and delicious too. I strongly suggest this book to anyone who wants to eat healthier.

This book is excellent. The recipes are balanced, nutritious and great tasting. I don't even miss the sugar that I would normally use in most of them.

This is a great book if you are cooking for someone with diabetes (including yourself)and are interested in food that is delicious and "normal". I've tried MANY of these recipes; they are great! Not only will you eat well, but you'll learn a lot about how to cook in a way that supports good health, whether diabetic or not. Everyone in your family will love the food. This book is the practical companion to Reversing Diabetes, also by Julian Whitaker, M.D. -- an excellent educational book that gives you the WHY behind this approach to healthy food prep to support health (especially for diabetics).

This is a good book for anyone with diabetes or just wanting to take care of themselves. I rated it 4 stars because some of the ingredients are not easy to obtain but overall it is good.

By analyzing and copying the protein, carbohydrates and fat ratios, you can gain more practical knowledge on cooking (nutrition) for diabetics (my grandparents and a few clients of mine are).

This book is also great if you have peanut or soy allergies. I have a 7 year old who is allergic to peanuts and soy and there are many reacipes in here including desserts that are just for him! He was so excited!

I used Dr. Barnard's regimen for reversing diabetes and can testify that it has great merit. Chelating oil out of the system helps getting rid of many diseases. I would recommend it to all diabetes sufferers. |
