Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is the fastest growing modality in diagnostic imaging. There are now thousands of MRI facilities across the United States and around the world, employing huge numbers of technologists. The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists has, with the help of experts in the MRI and educational fields, devised a multiple choice examination that is intended to ensure that all technologists have the required level of knowledge to practice MRI safely and competently. Carolyn Kaut and William Faulkener, experts in the field of MRI education, have compiled this book to help students prepare for the registry examination. The questions follow the structure of the syllabus and are intended to help readers test their understanding of the subject and identify any gaps in their knowledge. The book is extremely comprehensive, covering all the aspects of the examination, including patient care and safety, imaging procedures, pulse sequences and data acquisition, and imaging artifacts and options.

a felow technologist recommended this as a study aid for the registry exam last fall. it was a definite life-saver. easy to understand; and practical questions. i don't think i could have passed the registry without this book. very highly recommended.

This is a must have for all MRI Technologists, price here is higher than most bookstores. If you only get one book in MR review, this is it

The sections on MRI Patient Care, Safety, Equipment, and Some of the general concepts on Pulse Sequences were good -- and similar to the Registry. But....the Anatomy and Physics questions were way too easy
and much simpler than the Registry. Not Recommended. This is a general
and basic review but nothing more. Explanations are lacking and the book needs updating.

I have not taken my test yet, but this has a good variety of questions and some explanations of the answers. A decent study guide. I got it because it was recommended by ARRT as a prep book for the exam. Quick delivery

The anatomy is not well covered in this book but the rest of it is very good. Needs updating though. Published in 1995. The good thing is that MRI physics never changes but the newer techniques are not included as you would expect. looking forward to the next edition.

The book is helpful in preparing for registry. It was a little over priced for what you get. It is smaller than it looks

This book really touches on the basics of every area the registry covers. I think the sections of MR physics did not apply AS MUCH to the registry, however the other sections were a good review. This along with the purple review book and MRI in practice led me to a 95 on the registry. Worth the price if you ask me...

Great book for reviewing what you know and what you don't before taking the registry test. It has a lot of great questions that you would possibly see in the test but definitely you need to study Physics and Anatomy from other books.
