Editorial Reviews

Review

Clinical and Experimental Opthalmology, Volume 34 -- "The latest edition of Review Questions in Ophthalmology is a comprehensive question and answer book aimed primarily at ophthalmology registrars approaching final examinations. All the information is presented in a multiple-choice format with clear and concise explanations provided at the end of each chapter. There is an emphasis on case-based scenarios. The book is illustrated with both colour and black and white photographs including clinical photographs, imaging and fluoroscein angiograms. Overall, I found this to be a comprehensive text that would be a useful self-assessment tool for registrars approaching final examinations. The clinically orientated and pathology sections are excellent and the multiple-choice format is a nice break from reading didactic texts."

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for OKAP preparation, February 15, 1999
By A Customer
This is an excellent review of the fundamentals of ophthalmology. The question content is similar to that of the pretest review book, or even just a little more complex. If you are looking for a good board review book, this is certainly one you will want. Several questions off of the okap were exactly the same as in this book. This book is definately more in depth than a non ophthalmologist would want to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good review book, November 13, 2001

This book has hundreds of questions, conveniently divided into roughly the same sections as the BRS series. The answers are well explained, although the quality of the black and white photos is suboptimal.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Review Book for OKAPS, May 20, 2006

This review is from: Review Questions in Ophthalmology: A Question and Answer Book (Paperback)
If you study the Ophthalmology Review Manual and work the questions in this book, you will do well on OKAPS. The questions in this book are superb. They really hit the highlights on very important topics. I would supplement the optics, and would supplement the pathology sections (as would be expected).

I recently bough the Mass Eye and Ear Review Manual and it is good too. It has more questions, but the questions are not as good overall. There is a lot more minutia in the Mass Eye and Ear question book. The Chern book you will get the most bang for your buck, hands down.
